Perfect self-defense weapon. Unobtrusive and easy to use.
This self-defense weapon is commonly called a "Kubotan" which is a generic trademark for a self-defense keychain weapon developed by Takayuki Kubota in the late 1960s. Takayuki, born September 20, 1934, is a Japanese American master of karate. Kubota was a self-defense instructor for the Tokyo Police department in the 1950s. He earned black belts in karate (10th degree), kubojitsu (10th degree), judo (5th degree), aikido (5th degree), kendo, and iaido. This is an excellent rendition of a kubotan. It is made of a light but extremely strong aircraft aluminum, easily to handle, and its pointed end can deliver a devastating blow to an assailant with very little instruction to the user. I bought two of these: one for myself (in black) and one for my daughter.(in pink). You can find kubotan videos on Youtube that demonstrate the most effective ways to use it.I showed it to my doctor and all of the female staff there want one. So my doctor is going to give them out as Xmas gifts. It has a ring on the end if you choose to put keys on it (I don't) and, if you have a lot of keys, those, too, would make for a potent weapon on their own.For anyone who can't (or is prohibited) from carrying a gun or a knife, this little number may be the only thing that prevents you (or your loved one) from becoming ther victim of an assault or abduction. You absolutely can't beat the price, either (if you don't mind the wait to receive it)!Highly recommended!

Sharper than shown!
This thing is kind of awesome. I wouldn't hesitate to use it to stab at someone if they attacked me (I even watched youtube videos for tips) but it's hard for me to imagine I'd have to so I have to admit, I mostly just got it to play with on my keychain... I'm not sure whether I'll do even that though because it seems worth mentioning that the one I got seems to be A LOT pointier than shown in the product picture! I can finally see why some people might worry about it being illegal because this thing looks pretty sharp and a lot more weapon-like because of it. Personally, I'm not really worried about it being illegal; I'm mostly just worried about it eventually poking a hole through my bag (it's that sharp). Of course, if you're a guy, it's probably worth worrying about whether you could get in trouble for carrying or using something like this (unfair but true), so that's something to think about before ordering. Might be better to go with a strong pen in that case.

Other than people asking why I have a sex toy on my keys, this product is great! It makes me feel safer at night and early morning. Also, I don’t have to worry about accidentally maceing myself.

CHECK UR CAMPUS RULES!!!
it's a great self-defense weapon, which I purchased after a traumatic event at a party to make me feel safer, and it definitely helped me feel more safe. The issue is the rules of your college, mine I recently found out does not permit this on campus bc its over 5 inches and is counted as a "weapon" and a danger to others. I now have to leave it at my dorm and had to purchase pepper spray instead.

It’s not plastic. It’s made of metal. Fits in my small crossbody. I’ve never had to personally use it, but if I ever do for protection it wouldn’t definitely hurt someone. Makes me feel a lot safer. Glad I purchased.

Sturdy
Needed something to make me feel a little safer now that it's getting darker in the mornings. Haven't had to use it, but keep it in my hand makes me feel a bit more confident. I wear the key ring on my middle finger and then hide it in my hand and sleeve.

Good enough grip for my (small fingered) hand---obviously made for accommodating someone with larger grip. Paint job has two tiny nicks on it...not a problem as I doubt will be worrying about rust. Ring looks sturdy enough.Hope to God I never have to actually use it on another living soul.Wish so many places don't categorize this as a weapon. Might as well ban pencils, pens, and wedding rings. Self defense items should not be classed with 'weapons'.Tip is pointed yet not sharp. Tried some experimental 'poking' with it against my own arm, but not feeling adventurous enough to actually try for damage. :) Imagine will hurt some when used with actual force against a tendon or bone.
