Works to replace the ice maker CAN15 WR30X10015 in a GE Refrigerator 2001 GTS22KB GTS22SB
Model and Numbers for the recordGE Refrigerator2001GTS22KBGTS22SBwithice maker CAN15WR30X10015200D1181G005but these ice maker codes are on a sticker that can only be read if you pull the ice maker out, unscrew the two hanging screws, swing to read the sticker, and the ice maker connector electrical cables need not be disconnected to read. But of course, unplug the refrigerator before doing this.ice maker CAN25WR30X10093seems to be GE replacement for the CAN15At Home Depot, use this SKU to pull and view the CAN25, and it looks just like the CAN15, but is twice as expensive as the PRYSM Ice Maker (WR30X10093) and Water Valve (WR57X10033) KitInternet #205360710Model # IM4DStore SO SKU #1000054769Diagnostic manual run procedure ...... my Ice Maker green light was flashing ......The green light on your refrigerator icemaker is flashing because the icemaker will not make ice. You can try to run the following tests.Turn icemaker Off for 15 seconds and turn back on, Push IN, NOT PULL UP, Push IN the paddle 3 times and only 3 times within 15 seconds of powering the icemaker back on. Within 3 minutes, the icemaker should enter the harvest mode. The heater will turn on for a about of 20 seconds, and the comb inside the icemaker will make one full revolution and return to the "Home" position. At the end of 3 minutes, the icemaker mold should fill with water. The green light under the ON/OFF switch should be on and steady. If this does not fix the issue you may need to replace the icemaker. Hope this helps! If the green light on your refrigerator icemaker is flashing and the icemaker will not make (harvest) ice, run the following icemaker diagnostic:Note: This is for icemakers with an On/Off switch with LED light only. 1 Turn icemaker Off for 15 seconds and turn back on. 2 Push in on paddle 3 times and only 3 times within 15 seconds of powering the icemaker back on. 3 Within 3 minutes, the icemaker should enter the harvest state. 4 The heater will turn on for a minimum of 20 seconds, and the rake inside the icemaker will make one full revolution and return to the "Home" position. In the "Home" position, the rake teeth are even with the ice stripper teeth. 5 At the end of 3 minutes, the icemaker mold should fill with water. The water valve energizes for 4-7 seconds. 6 The green light under the ON/OFF switch should be on and steady. 7 The test is complete. WARNING: Icemaker body can get very hot during the harvest portion. Exercise caution in touching mold body during the test.Note: If the Harvest state takes more than 7 minutes, the icemaker will initiate a Harvest Fix mode. In Harvest Fix Mode, if the Harvest state is not complete within 30 minutes, the icemaker will enter the Fault state. In the Fault state, the green light will flash. This often indicates the icemaker will need to be replaced.OK, so I did the diagnostic manual reset, three times. Each time, ice maker would go through all the steps and go to a solid on green light. Activate solenoid to bring water in, freeze, cycle the cam to push the ice cubes out, activate solenoid to bring water in, freeze BUT THEN would not kick out the cubes, and would sit there for 24 hours, and still not kick out the cubes, BUT the green light would be on.So I bought this PRYSM Ice Maker (WR30X10093) and Water Valve (WR57X10033) Kit which dropped in and worked perfectly. I did not use the solenoid water valve as mine was working, being called by the PRYSM Ice Maker (WR30X10093). I only figured out that mine was working after I ordered. But that is because, it took me several days to understand the Manual Diagnostic directions to mean PUSH IN the paddle, aka swing it in, NOT PULL UP ON IT. Glad I went to college or I would never have figured this out, duh I am an idiot sometimes. In the end I would have only needed the PRYSM Ice Maker (WR30X10093) but I did not want to wait a week to get just it and find out that I also needed as well the Water Valve (WR57X10033), SO AT RISK I paid the extra $8 dollars for the kit, as the Water Valve (WR57X10033) as a separate order and another week of waiting would have been another $15 anyway. This way if my existing 19 year old Solenoid Water Valve goes bad, which it could at anytime or maybe never, I have the replacement part taped to the back of the refrig.Could not find on the web and answer to what is difference between CAN15 and CAN25 ice makers, but from what Home Depot sells, and what little info GE has at the GE part webpages, it seems that CAN25 is the replacement current model for CAN15, and that CAN25 is used in most GE refrigerators.Hope this helps everyone. As usual took hours to figure what is the correct part, and about 20 minutes to install and confirm that all was working good, Nice to hear the fall of the ice cubes.

Why didn't I do this sooner?
This review is for the PRYSM Ice Maker (WR30X10093) and Water Valve (WR57X10033) Kit:Our fridge is old. It's so old, I'm not going to say out loud how old it is, because then it will surely die suddenly. I don't want a new fridge, have you seen the reviews about how unreliable they all are? It's frightening!Anyways, since the day we purchased the fridge, we have HATED the original ice maker. It filled the tray just a bit too full. This resulted in the cubes being connected by small bits of ice that would not break apart when the tray dumped. Which meant that a doubled ice cube would get jammed in the dispenser EVERY time! And I could see no way to adjust the water level.Additionally, the arm that stops the ice maker would always get stuck in the "OFF" position on the days when you needed ice the most. The whole thing was just a bad design. Finally, the original ice maker died, and I found this kit, which was awesome because I didn't know for sure if my problem was the ice maker or the water valve. Thankfully, it was just the ice maker, because replacing the valve requires taking off panels. This new ice maker went in easy, and worked immediately. It's so great - no jammed ice dispenser, and we always have ice when we need it!I no longer hate my really old fridge. It may look haggard - but it runs like a champ! (Shhhhhhhhhh!!!)Thanks PRYSM!

Works quite well so far (about one month)
Replaced our original GE icemaker with this model and it was an easy swap -- everything fit and installation went pretty smoothly. One minor problem attaching the new water valve in order to get it to fit in the back of the refrigerator, but I think that was the fault of the fridge design, not the valve that shipped, which looked like an exact copy of the original, except for the positioning of the metal holder that attached to the body of the refrigerator. A small 50-cent bracket extender from the hardware store did the trick. Everything has been working beautifully for the past month!

Quick inexpensive fix for a defunct ice maker.
Easy fix for a defunct ice maker. Easy install. Not an exact replacement for the OEM part, the lever arm that turns the ice maker off when the bin is full is just different enough that it might not shut off automatically. Not a big deal, I just check the bin when I get ice and shut it off manually if need be. For the money it is well worth it.

Ice Maker
No problems, easy to install. A contractor tries to charge me $400 to replace this Ice Machine. it took me about 45 minutes start to finish and I cleaned the vents.

Great price, Great product
Easy to install and was making ice after about twelve hours at twice the pace as the old one. Drops every 20 minutes. I replaced the valve just to over any problems. Everything was fitting and the price is right for the combo. Highly recommended if you have a GE profile

Simple and Easy
Took no more than 5 minutes to replace. Only caveat is that the included water pump is only for the ice maker. The door on my fridge has filtered water and ice. With my model, the pump is different and has two outputs.
