Excellent Brand!
I've used this hair color for around 8 years, on my roots. I can't use some hair color products, because they're harsh on my scalp. But, Satin brand causes NO issues, no burning. The color is nice. I use the CG (color gray) developer. So, my roots end up medium brown. With developer 10, my roots come out darker. The hue, in the sun, is red. Though, indoors, there's no obvious hue. My hair never feels damaged. But, I also use some quality conditioners. Satin offers an after-coloring-conditioner that I use on occasion. I used to use 7N, but it was kind of drab on me. My hair Colorist tried 6N. It was a bit of a shock, but it brought out my eye color and a lot of compliments, so, I've stuck with it.

Tried and True
Great at home color for silver roots. Not too dark. I'm mixing small amount of 5n for dark/medium brown hair and using Satin developer.

Best at home hair color
Satin hair color is the best brand I’ve used at home. I mix 3/4 of 7A & 1/4 of 6N together with an equal amount of their Semi Developer and brush on my roots. That’s 50% developer 50% color. I do this so I don’t get as much lift as 2/3 developer, just deposited color. That keeps hair from turning quite as orange when the color fades. Leave on for 20-30 minutes. In winter I brush more on the lengths about 5 minutes before rinsing to even out my overall color. It’s very forgiving about exact timing. Gives me a close match to my natural light ash brown hair and feels softer. Neutral covers grey. Color lasts several weeks. If I just use the 7A alone it goes a little too yellow on me but it’s not bad, just better with the touch of 6N, actually helps make it more ash. Color is translucent so it looks natural. I can go in the next day with a few tiny box blond highlights. Never fails. After years of tears I’ve found my go to formula.
