While the packaging and description are promising great results, the results are far from what's advertised nor from my expectation.The supposed zapper only has button to automatically light the purple light when dark or to keep it on at all time. The purple light supposedly attracts bugs but it does not actually work that way.I tested this for three weeks or so, during that three weeks only one gnat was caught on its fins. I was happy for that, but then my other bug zapper during those same weeks caught more bugs that this thing.Out of curiousity, today I took one of the bugs that the other device caught and put it on one of its fins and to my astonishment, the little bugger was not zapped as its name suggest. My kitchen is full of fruit flies. So I decided to buy this RYOTA Electric Bug Zapper with UV Light in hope to "effectively eliminate all flying insects", as advertised. But to no avail. In fact, this device has neither trapped nor killed even a single fly within two days. Waste of money.

Returned it. Didn’t work. Never zapped one flying insect. Watched mosquitoes fly right by to someone to bite. I tried it in different spots but it didn’t matter. One star cause I can’t give zero stars. It works as a nightlight. I’m very suspect of all those 5 star ratings, they are all very oddly written!!!!! I believe most if not all are PHONEY!!!!!!

As the title says if you have plants this product is a must. Anyone with house plants can attest to annoying gnats that fly around and do nothing but pester you. I tried all those dishsoap/vinegar/apple ect traps none work. I bought a different brand one of these (it's around 20$) it works good but takes up both the top and bottom outlet up. This considers outlet space and you still get functionality of a top out. The nightlight function is also very nice, I however just keep mine on all day due to low power consumption.Summing the product up it's incredible at putting gnats down. The picture is 10 days of gnat killing. I have 3 in a 1300sq ft home and no longer have gnats. Recommended this to my fellow friend with over 100 plants in her house, same results. Stops gnats dead in their tracks.

I purchased this and another one like it from another brand. Don't waste your money. These don't work at all. I had a very bad gnat problem I accidentally created myself, and this product did nothing for it. Not one gnat was attracted to it. I was desperate, because I hate bugs, and I had to resort to making a homemade gnat trap; I found the recipe on the internet. Do your research for homemade remedies, and don't waste your money.

UPDATEHave to change the review I originally left below. Unfortunately these begin to dim after a few weeks to the point they become useless. I bought 5. None work anymore.=============================================================================== Unlike many of the other reviews I have read, my experience is that it works. It catches and kills lots of gnats. I think your expectations have to be reasonable. The device is small so it will not attract all the flying insects in the neighborhood.. but ever since i plugged it in in our adjoining bathroom replacing a night light i have not been bitten by gnats or mosquitos at night. In our great room i use a larger mosquito zapper. The combination has kept us bite free for two months.

Sorry...this simply is not working for me. I’ve had two units plugged in for well over a week. I’ve not had to use the brush at all because nothing to be brushed out. Mosquitoes still at large. Trying another route.

We have these in our bedroom and our kids' room and they don't do anything. We live in an area that gets a lot of mosquitoes and mimi's and this doesn't eliminate either. Our large bug zapper (different brand and size) downstairs is always zapping them and works really well. These on the other hand do nothing. We often get bug bites in our room at night. These are really dim nightlights at best.
