No one had a clue as to what happened to good ole Freddie
First saw a Freddy Flameout nearly 50 years ago at Webb Air Force Base, Big Spring, Texas while attending USAF pilot training. Got one at the Base Exchange. It was displayed proudly and prominently at my parents' home until 10 years ago or so. No one had a clue as to what happened to good ole Freddie. A few days ago I ran across your listing on Amazon and it arrived in record time. It has now found a new home where it will be hangared with care. By the way, I was the only Air Force pilot to have logged 100+ combat missions in both the B-52 and F-111 aircraft. Thanks for helping me save Freddie from a fate of permanent MIA to back on the flight line. It's well made, looks sharp, was easy to assemble and decorate and will bring back many war stories to be re-told. LtCol USAF (Ret) Rich Carr

Old "Flame -Out"
Well "Freddy Flame Out" Hold a special place in my heart because it was the fist model I ever built. It was 1968 and I was only 7 at the time. It was so hard to build I needed help from my Father. It still needs work when you mate the parts together. The model is not quite as detailed as the RevelED Roth ones. But with a little modeler putty you can bring out more detail and fill in the gaps where they don't fit so well and that is half of the fun building the model. My opinion is bias because of sentimental reasons, that's why it got 5 stars. If I were to give it a true model evaluation with out my sentiment it would only rate 3 stars for quality and detail. But hey it is a good price and I was so happy to find it and re build it once more!!

Like taking a trip back in time!
Having a lot of fun with this model. I first built Freddie back in the '60s and it is no less fun now. Simple construction and good fit.

Hawk Weird-Ohs Freddy Flameout
Had this model as a kid. Wife looking through family album, saw pictures of it on my shelfs. Ordered it for my Christmas. What a wonderful surprise. Plan on working on it with my grandson.

Blast from the past
Wow this was the first plastic model I ever built as a child. I was so glad I had the chance to build it again 50 years later! Brought back old memories. It was much harder for me to build it when I was only 7 years old.

Weird and Nostalgic
Boy does this kit bring back memories! It's super easy to assemble. And don't bother buying those tiny bottles of Testors paints. Use Sharpie markers to make your Freddy fabulously colorful. I used a combination of fine points, chisel points and metallics. They work well and you don't end up with a collection of dried up enamel paints. I'm hooked! Now I just have to decide on the next Weird-Oh for my trophy shelf.
