Great shoes. Edited review. On my second pair.
First off, shoe sizes can be really confusing. I usually wear a 9.5 in Salomons, Merrill’s, Ariats, Steve Maddens, and Rockports. Some brand I have to up to a 10.5 though so go figure. That said, I went with a 10 in these and they fit perfect. They’re not overly aggressive in the tread which is a good thing for this shoe. It’s been ages since I wore anything like these so I notice now that my heel sits further down making me feel more flat footed. They feel very durable, as they should considering the materials used. The toe is pliable. The laces feel like a good quality and don’t slip after being tied.I bought these more so for everyday casual wear, day at the range, etc., but I can imagine they’d make a good exercise shoe also. I do wish they offered them in more colors. Like a dark grey. The best thing for me is they came in two days. I recently ordered from another high end “tactical” company that a lot of fan boys like. That particular company took 2 weeks to get an in stock item shipped to me. And when I tried to cancel they refused to because “the ball had already started rolling.” So a big thanks to this seller. I’ll be buying more in the future.Edit: Just bought my second pair and apparently someone upstairs reads the reviews because I was able to get these in grey. Absolutely love the shoe. The only reason I’m on my second pair is because they’re not fire proof.... shit happens though. 🤙🏻

Comfortable and Fit just right.
These Altama's are a great shoes. I wear them for work and this is the second pair I have ordered. I have problems with the toe-box on most shoes being to narrow for me. I ordered these in a wide and they really are comfortable. I use them for work and often have at least 20lbs of gear on me. I bought this second pair so I could alternate them every day. The older pair is about 7 months old and still look great. Neither pair required any break in.

these shoes can be comfy, totally needs insoles
these shoes are nice for combat ready Converse sneakers. i think the price point on these is 20$ high.they are comfortable for light use. if you are on your feet all day get insoles. they wear well. I've had mine for about 6 months and they hold up well to daily use.get a pair of these if you like a durable, cool looking, low top sneaker.i am a big fan.

Great hybrid boot/shoe
This item is excellent, but not perfect. Didn't have any footwear that met requirements for public safety water rescue training, so I ordered these. Excellent choice. Even most of the instructors were using the mid-height model.Mine held up to over 20 hours of abuse in the water. They stay on your feet and do not loosen. Grip on wet rocks was good, drainage was great; the water flowed out like it was supposed to. They sustained no appreciable damage over 3 days of hard use.Comfort is pretty good for a special purpose item. I have extremely wide feet so I got some compression and hot spots. With and without thin socks. I tried both ways. No major difference. Could be they just need more break-in time to conform. In all, very pleased with these shoes, but a little too narrow for my feet. Wish they were a bit wider. Length is perfect and true to size.Be advised, grit and sand will get in and not out in my experience.

Initial break in period.
Put the shoes on and they fit perfectly with little to no break in period. The shoes make a sandpaper noise if your feet rub together. Other than that my initial thoughts are I love them! Grip so far is a plus, and by far are lightweight.

Some of the best shoes I've ever owned
At first I was hesitant. I tend to stay away from products that market themselves as "designed for Navy Seals" or <insert toxic imperialism> here. But these shoes slap. They were comfortable out of the box. Literally no break in time. I got them one day and hit the range hard the very next. Kept my feet and back solid. I am definitely going to pick up a few more pairs to have different colors to wear.

Lasted for a year
I work as a grounds keeper, and usually I go through a couple set of shoes. These have lasted me a whole year wearing everyday in all kinds of weather. They have gotten muddy, wet, and have baked in the sun.I have weedwacked, mowed, cut wood, put down mulch, and almost anything you can imagine to impact these shoes.Sure they look beat up but they still are solid. The drain thing in the side is torn a bit and the soles are a little worn but they are still working and comfy.Only down side is they took about a month to break in to get as comfy as they are.I an going to buy another set to have on hand for when the inevitable happens but I might not need them this season.

Awesome shoes
I have been wearing these about a week. So far they are fantastic. My only complaint is that soles are made of a harder material( also durable ) which makes them rather loud when walking around on hard surfaces.A few things about the fit:These are true to size. I generally wear a medium width size 9 Merrell. I ordered a size 9 Altama and they do fit. However, they are a bit more snug all around and in the toe box area. The waterproof insole is very grippy, and with the fit of the shoe it may be difficult to get these shoes on with a thicker wool sock if that's your thing. If arch support is needed you may want to look at a different shoe, these are rather flat.
