Child sized bagpipes
Kind of tough for a little guy at age 6. You've really got to have some good wind to make it work well. Cool gift though. It was more fun watching the adults seeing if they could get it to work.

Poor product
Cheap beyond my hopes. No variation in the sound at all. Useful as a prop. Nothing more

Great quality and a good start for a wee lad piper!
Perfect for a small child so they can learn the pipes! I'm not sure if it was my brother or my nephew who was more excited!! The chanter has hemp cord and there is a reed. The drones are ornamental but not exactly needed for the purpose of a child. Excellent quality, a great gift for a small piper to be!

Love It
Big hit this holiday. My son loves it. Actually got another one from a friend and this was much better quality.

These were perfect for our 5-year-old
These were perfect for our 5-year-old. Once you figure out that the sound comes from squeezing air out of the bag and not directly from blowing, they work as expected.

Disappointed Santa gift :(
My son opened this Christmas morning. He has autism & all he wanted from Santa were bagpipes. They have a crack in one of the pipes. It's past warranty, but I am hoping that the company will replace with a new one.

not proportional - impossible to hold & blow
I bought these for my preschool age grandson because I am a bagpiper, and he is quite fascinated by my pipes. These claim to be playable, and they are....if you are a child with a 12" long neck! the blowstick (part you blow into) is ridiculously long in proportion to the rest of the pipes. When you play pipes, you're supposed to tuck the bag right up under your arm. if a child does this, he/she will poke out an eye with the blowstick, and I shudder to think of a child actually putting that long thing into his/her mouth and walking around!! I could see a serious accident happening all because the manufacturer hasn't figured out that the blowstick needs to be less than half the length. I bought this for him to pretend - the chanter is playable, and actually has a fairly nice tone, thanks to the same type of reed pipers use in their practice chanters. (the drones are decoration only.) I expected my grandson to be able to blow air into the bag and get SOME kind of sound, but I'm going to have to saw off the blowstick, sand it down nice & smooth, then seal the wood in order for these to be fun for him. A lot of money for what you get.
