first off this was released the other day in japan on the AVALON LABEL not THE BELLE ANTIQUE label, well???? what can i say about a new heep album in 2018??? i can say that if you liked what heep have been doing since they started making new studio records again back in 2008 with wake the sleeper then you will love this new disc!! ( hence there was a 10 year gap between sonic orgami from 1998 until wake the sleeper in 2008) this has all the elements that have kept heep such a fantastic hard rock band for the past 50 years (just about), great guitars work mixed with phil lanzons wild keyboard playing all over the place as well as bernie shaws powerful vocals, fantastic !!! , classic sounding hard rock songs with heeps signature sound all over it, i can say there is not a bad song on this record at all, in fact i have been such a big heep fan the past few decades that there are not to many BAD heep records, i still feel the worst was CONQUEST back in 1980 but what was that??????????????? almost 40 years ago at this point. like deep purple i know there are many heep fans to this day that still only want to hear the classic david byron era stuff from 1970 to 1976 but heep has had a hell of a long life since david left some 42 years ago many great studio records and live albums since but i will agree that era was magic like w/deep purple & blackmore or ufo with michael schenker however there has been tons of life with all 3 outfits since those magic years ended decades ago regarding all 3 bands, anyway this beautiful japan edition just came out the other day, i have it already and i am spinning it for the second time since i got this yesterday, I LOVE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! one heep album that went very unnoticed i always like to plug is the SEA OF LIGHT record from 1995, what a great heavy oldschool sounding album but sadly back in the 1990s classic hard rock bands did not stand a chance, this comes with a really nice japan obi strip, an inner sleeve w lyrics in english and text on the other side in japanese as well as a booklet w/ current photos of this line up..................

近年ではかなりと高評価だった前作 "Outsider" ですが、そこまでのめり込めませんでした。なので本作もそれほどの期待は持たずに聴きました。聴いてびっくりでした。本当にいい曲といいVocal,そしていい演奏が目いっぱい詰まっていました。すっかりこのバンドの顔になったVo.は言うに及ばず、今時ここまでやるかというくらいのワウ踏みっぱなしのG.と、これぞオルガンというKey.が本当にいい味出してます。決して古臭くないけど、どこか懐かしい良質のBritish Hard Rockの名盤として、多くのrock fanに聴いてもらいたいですね。40年やっているとか、バンド名からくる先入観なしで本当にお薦めです。
