Remember what you pay in the stealership if it not because of these cheap replacements
They're more than OK as long as you remember the savings compared with getting OEM key blanks from an authorized VW dealer.Having said that, my experience is like other customer's, in that you can swap the transponder, electronic door locks and the battery, BUT the key blank ins 100% unswappable, so in the end you have to go to a locksmith who has a cutting machine that's compatible with VAG keys to make a duplicate on your new blank.You cannot simply swap the original "swing" key cut from the original remote, because it won't fit properly in the new key housing. Don't waste your time as I did, and instead invest time in looking around who can duplicate the mechanical key blanks. Another, tip: Leave the "VW" logo sticker to the very end AFTER the new blanks are cut and verified that they open doors and turn on the ignition properly. THEN you can affix the logo signaling that you're done.And for the very nitpickers, the OEM key stalk can be pulled out from the swing mechanism by removing a wristwatch-like pin, BUT the new key blanks are affixed permanently (the new pin is a non-functional fake), so they cannot be simply pulled out and swapped over. I tried and nearly broke the thing in two.

find someone who will cut these blanks
There is absolutely nothing wrong with the blanks I got. They are as advertised. The real issue is can you find someone to cut them? I bought them with some hesitation because I had read that getting them cut was difficult and my fears were realized.I took them to the dealer who told me they would break his machine. I went to an ACE hardware who told me they could do it and when I got there, said they couldn't. I called multiple locksmiths who referred me to other locksmiths. Bottom line - no one was willing or able to cut them.Others may have different experience, but I have given up trying to get these blanks cut. If someone wants a deal on two, let me know. :)
