SeaSnax SeaMama Kombu Seaweed Flakes, Ready to Eat & Great for Soups, 1.4 Ounce

The pieces are the size of a postage stamp. Perfect snack size They are nicely salted too. I just haven't figured out why they are not uniformly dense. Some pieces are super hard, but others are soft and flexible. Shouldn't they all be the same?

i love this snack could eat it all the time but it is LOADED with Potassium if only they could use less of potassium i will give it 5 star.

Before you buy this, please note that the "kombu flakes" version of this is neither a snack nor flakes. They are hard, ultra-salty, cut pieces of dried seaweed that should be used for cooking (such as in soup). That being the case, you can buy a big bag of cooking kombu/seaweed at any Asian market for much cheaper.I am Japanese and have eaten my fair share of seaweed. I also love super salty, fishy snacks. So I can tell you with absolute certainty, this is not a snack.

I add a piece to rice and/or beans and it softens and adds flavor. It adds iodine too without having to eat bleached salt.

I’ve tried a few wakame brands and like this one best so far. It’s a little pricey, but I feel more comfortable knowing it’s from Korea as opppsed to less safe sources.I have found that just soaking them isn’t enough, I need to simmer them for at least 10-15 minutes to get them tender enough for consumption. I love tossing a pinch into ramen or miso soup! Haven’t tried it in a salad yet. Don’t expect long, stringy pieces like in a restaurant seaweed salad. These are more like the rectangular pieces in a miso soup.I also like that this brand isn’t as fishy tasting as others I’ve tried, where I’d need to soak them twice to rinse off some of the overpowering flavor. The taste is prefect as is!

They are great in poke bowls. Marinated in tamari sauce, they become tender.

As a snack eaten right out of the bag, I found this to be a very unpleasant experience (imagine gnawing on some salty sea-gristle, if there's such a thing). But since I didn't want to waste it, Plan B was to use it as a flavoring for seaweed soup, and that actually turned out pretty good. Just don't buy this if you're looking for something like nori (the thin seaweed sheets that almost melt in your mouth), because you'll be in for a pretty gnarly surprise if you do.

I love this wakame in my salads. It’s a great substitution for salt and amazing with tomatoes. Unfortunately, there’s no more to purchase, because I would buy it again(

Not enough product in the bag to make it worth the money for me personally, But… the flavour was amazing in my miso soup, if it was a better price then I would give perfect rating . But if you are in it for the flavour then 5 stars for sure. Miso soup lovers who don’t mind paying, should definitely give this a try. Delicious

I like it as a condiment, sprinkled on rice or salad. I live in a small rural community so nobody here has even heard of most of the traditionally Asian products. A nice find.

I mix it in with other vegetables in a stir-fry. So there is no single one taste. I eat it because it's good for me!! A little goes a long way.

Arrived today, quick delivery, taste great! Looking forward to trying in miso soup. I have a shellfish allergy so just tried one bite as says may contain traces of shellfish. So far so good!

Great for adding to miso soup, even instant miso soup. I thought the flavour & texture were delish w/out having to simmer for longer than a minute or two. Expands a lot, so it's true that a little goes a long way. Will continue to repurchase.
