Way Better Than Expected — Very Nice Unit
Bought this over a month ago to field trial before giving as Christmas gift to daughter (wants to bird watch and duck hunt with dad). Am pleasantly surprised at the quality and performance. As an outdoorsman I have very high-end optics (Zeiss, Leupold, Nikon) so I know good optic performance. While I can’t speak to ruggedness or endurance of this Aurosports monocular (only time will tell), I will attest to its optical performance. It is bright and crisp throughout it’s power range. There is a bit of minor bleeding or blur (some may not even notice) at extreme outer edges of scope but I don’t find that to be a problem since object in view will most always be centered. This is just a NICE. LITTLE. UNIT. I saw some reviews with questions/confusion about ability to focus and effective use on targets close-in. The unit DOES focus, just learn how. (Think: retractable telescopic “pirate scope” and you’ll figure it out.) And it will handle targets as close as 6-7 yards in (10x). And 30x max zoom is just as clear (note at 30x you’ll need surgeon-stable hands or a tripod to stabilize). Don’t get your heart set on perfect directions, they lack. Christmas morning I had both my 20-something kids try the scope, independently, no directions. They both figured out how to extend, adjust 10x-30x power, and focus. Ok, they didn’t notice the eye cup. But that’s just an option to use or not (rotates CCW to extend the eye cup). They both used binoculars before so those basics of use apply here as well. And....was a factor in their ability to quickly figure-out the unit. This unit is more than worth the price. I’d buy it again without hesitation.

Works! Good enough for the money.
Remarkable monocular! Lightweight, with a fairly good view for very little money. I was a little apprehensive, based on some of the other reviews. The model I received works great, though. It's not the easiest to use, as there are basically 3 rotary settings plus one that's just shifting back and forward, but overall it's useful for the size and weight. I'm am suspecting that some of the people that didn't get it to work, even after changing it in for a second one, didn't manipulate all the 4 different settings. The manual is, I will admit, lacking in guidance on that part. Mine didn't come with the camera clip that some people talk about, but I wasn't planning on using that anyway. It does come with the small lanyard. No guidance on how to attach that, but there's 2 small holes in the tripod-screw-in, that will accept the lanyard. I can't comment on sheerness, as I'm not sure what that's referring to. All in all, had I received the camera clip, I may have considered doing a video review. But as it stands, I can't really show the picture through the lense, and you'll just have to take my word for it. :-)

Excelllent Monocular
I was looking for a compact and affordable monocular that featured a decent zoom for various water and hunting activities along with my larger and heavier binoculars. Sometimes, a smaller "scope" is all you need instead of the big bulky binoculars. I found this one by Aurosports with10-30x40 zoom in my search on Amazon for a relatively decent price. After reading through the mostly positive reviews and a smattering of low ratings and reviews, I decided to take a chance on it, and I am so glad I did. I have found this monocular to be of excellent quality and value, and I am very pleased with my purchase. It comes with a cloth carry pouch, a small lanyard, and a lens cleaning cloth. Positive points: It has good weight to it and has rubberized non-slip grips. The size is surprisingly compact and will fit in backpacks, rucksacks and jacket pockets quite nicely. The zoom and twisting focus actions are silent and smooth. Focus is crisp and easy hone in on. You do lose a small amount of focus when zooming, but all you have to do is give it a little turn and focus back into perfection for a clear, sharp picture.. I was able to focus and zoom on objects as close as 7 feet, and as far as the moon. The zoom is amazingly bright at the higher power, which is helpful when using it in the shadows of woods or at dusk. The zoom on the moon was perfect enough that I could clearly see some of the craters that are normally too small to see with the naked eye. I was also able to read the street sign about a quarter of a mile away with no problem. The 40mm lens is large enough to allow light through, and I had no trouble seeing my target at dusk. The lens caps fit securely and will not fall off. The matte black and rubber coated exterior does not reflect light, although the lens might reflect some, but it is minimal. I do not anticipate it being an issue while deer hunting. It can be mounted to a tripod or camera, and the screw hold is bored smooth, and is standard size. The piece feels very stable, and the craftsmanship feels spot-on. There is no interior noise from the mechanics of the monocular or the lenses. Everything feels very securely fitted into place. It is advertised as fog free and waterproof. I took it outside on a very cold night, and straight from the warmth of my home and it did not fog up. As far as being waterproof, well, I'm not going to use it in the rain or dunk it in a river to find out. Cons: The lens caps are not tethered to the monocular and could easily be left behind or dropped and lost. At 30x zoom, it may be difficult for some to hold it steady without a tripod. The string lanyard is thin and does not feel trustworthy enough to wrap around anything to carry or hold. I'll probably replace it at some point with a sturdier one. The fabric pouch is thin, and I anticipate it not lasting long (but that's what those spare Crown royal Bags are used for, right?) ____ All in all, this is a great purchase that I am very happy with. I will definitely purchase a second one if I happen to lose or break this one, and I may even purchase a couple more to use as gifts.

10/10 for the price
I bought this for backpacking because it’s half the size and half the weight of regular binoculars. It’s not nothing I’m gonna hand down to my grandkids. But it is built very well for its price and I feel like I’ll get a good couple years of use out of it. The zoom works great. The focus takes a good couple turns to get it into focus, but works beautifully and I can read license plates 15 houses away. So I think it does everything it promised and a little bit more. Very compact very light reasonably sturdy decent clarity of optics 10 out of 10 would buy it again.

Impossible to see a stable image, however still you hold it, or even balance it on a hard surface, it just shows a trembling image.
