This cable is not shielded and will cause Wifi and Bluetooth interference - You will not be able to use wifi if you plug it into certain ports. You will only be able to use it with ports on one side of the Macbook (depends on model). Apple's placement of antennae and the lack of the shielding on the cable are incompatible. Hack - You can cover the usb plug portion of the cable with aluminum tape and it will work.

I like the build and length of this cable. The components are high-quality. What disappointed me is that there is only one cable is the package. The description shows two cables and is labeled “2-pack”. Yet the package only contains one cable. If you need two, perhaps you should double your order. Carefully reading through the product description reveals that product only offers one cable. But it seems to me that that’s found in the fine print. At quick glance, the consumer is deceptively led to believe two cables are included. What else can “2-pack” mean?

My husband's studio software requires one external drive that plugs directly into the computer. This cable lets him use his USB 3 drives for that, which is a huge cost savings.The cable itself is okay, but I wouldn't subject it to a lot of moving or bending. It's an effective and efficient solution, but not built to take a whole lot of abuse.Recommend.

EDIT: turns out it was my pc/hardrives fault due to a software being out of date! P.S. sorry seller forgot to edit when i fixed this issue! Remembered when i got email!!!First off i plug it into my hard drive which i had a usb 3.0 male for but wanted to upgrade due to the better type c port HOWEVER THIS CORD LAGS/FREEZES WHEN COPING FILES AND DISCONNECTS AND RECONNECTS THE DRIVE EVERY 5 MINS! horrible!

I've read a lot of reviews about items not working well with the newer MacBook Pros. I'm using this cable with an external HD for backup purposes. No issues.

I have a couple of external hard drives that take a cable like this. They used to plug into my USB 3.0 port and they worked fine. But plugging them into the usb-c port, they work so much faster.

I used this 2-pack of cables to replace the cables on a couple of my hard drives that had a traditional USB type-A connector. I was using type-A to type-C adapters but found the connection wasn't always the best and had drives disconnecting in the middle of transferring data which is never a great thing.These cables appear to be well-made and I haven't noticed any issues with speed or connectivity. They are rather rigid due to them being braided but they work perfectly fine to connect a hard drive to a computer.Pictured is my 4TB Seagate drive connected to a 2016 MacBook Pro. No issues here.Will update my review if anything changes over time but so far so good!

Two stars because they actually work in terms of transferring data from my external disk to my MacBook Pro. But they cause an interference that kills my internet reception, from 30 Mbps to about 3 Mbps and even kills it on occasion. Using a HooToo hub there is a reduction in speeds from about 30 MBps to 20 Mbps but not down to pretty much zero as these cables do.
