Good But Very Vinegar-y. Heat Them Up and Then Dry Them Out to Improve Flavor & Texture
Out of the bag the regular (not honey version) are too tangy/vinegar-y for my taste. I suspect that the lactic acid (listed in the ingredients) acts as a preservative, but it takes away from what should be a good smoky-type flavor, in my opinion.I found that if you put them in the oven for about 10-15 minutes at 250-300F and then let them cool down for about 10-15 minutes the excessive tanginess goes away and the texture becomes firmer and denser-- similar to when foods are reduced in an air dryer (like true jerky). This provides a more concentrated flavor. It's a little bit of extra work to enjoy these, but I think it makes a big difference in the flavor and texture to do this.

Whatever :)
Maybe it's just a product category but I find these incredibly boring I'm just not tasty at all. Really just glorified hot dogs for five times the cost. Granted they are at least 40 times better than a Slim Jim or any of those type of products way less fatty but again just these five star reviews where people are going nuts just makes no sense these are a nice solid average three and a half Star product
