Digi-Flex - 10-0740 Yellow Hand and Finger Exercise System, 1.5 lbs Resistance

Comfortable and portable.

This is one of the three exercisers in the set I bought. The set is 3 different strengths. 1.5 lbs, 3 lbs, and 5 lbs. I bought these for my son to strengthen is fingers for playing the violin. I already had a 9 lb model, which was much to strong for him. The 1.5 lb and 3 lb are useless for us. He can easily completely compress them with very little effort. I'd say if you are using them for rehab, or have very weak hand strength they would be good. My son is 11 and the 5 lb model was the best as a starting point. I ended up getting the 5 lb and 7lb in addition to the 9 lb I already had. Obviously it's going to be different for each person, but I thought the lower models were just too easy to make them useful. The quality of the product is good, it also comes with an instruction sheet that shows different ways to use it depending on what you want to accomplish.

I bought this to help me recover from an injury I did to my right ring finger about a year ago. I dislocated it downward in a way that is difficult to fix. It was fractured in several places and tendons and ligaments were torn. It is still crooked and I cannot straighten it fully yet. The large knuckle has 3 dislocated fractures. The entire finger is weak. I was in PT until July. Now I am trying to strengthen the finger that is still weak and painful. This exerciser allows me to isolate the ring finger structure so I know just how much it can do. I use all 4 fingers to depress this, but I can tell just how much each individual finger can do. This is the lightest exerciser in the group. Since the other fingers are much stronger, I must concentrate to force myself to use the ring finger, but it is possible with this since each finger is isolated. I am using this for P.T., but pianists, violinists and other musicians might use it to strengthen fingers needed for musical play. There are tighter more challenging ones in the series and they are color coded. This seemed expensive, but for my purposes it was worth the money.

The digi flex is really helping me. I have seen very good results with my hand.

Portable, Easy to use during wait times. I definitely feel stronger in my fingers while playing the piano! The little finger is most difficult/challenging :)

My 87 year old mother fell and shattered her wrist on the Saturday before Mother's Day and after her surgery, she was sent to PT to rehab her wrist and hand. One of the items the PT had her use is this Digi-Flex finger exerciser. I immediately went on Amazon to purchase one so she could use it at home as well since we could only make it to PT once a week. She has used it daily since starting her PT and she is almost totally rehabbed after 3 months and the Digi-Flex is a large reason why she's done so well so quickly. There are different levels of Digi-Flex and the yellow is the lightest exerciser, but a must have if you are rehabbing your hand after injury/surgery.

This was prescribed as part of hand therapy after finger surgery (by my Occupational Therapist)I have several of these, different strengths . Thisparticular unit is defective on the black grip part on the unit. I waited too long to bring it to my Occupational Therapist, who confirmed that it's not put together correctly . Using what feelslike a "broken" unit. . I'm so.mad that the company would sell it new, this way!

I ordered the 1.5 (the lowest level yellow) because I used it in physical therapy a couple years back and it helped strengthen my fingers sensation. Works good for my arthritic and fibromyalgia hands and fingers. If you do not have major issues with grasping or grip you may want to go up to the next size which is 3 lb (Red) Came me in great condition and I highly recommend this product. Came exactly as shown in the product photo.
