X AUTOHAUX Car Remote Central Kit Door Lock Keyless Entry System DC12V Only

I purchased this device for a 2021 Toyota Tacoma SR with the utility delete package. For the price I am very pleased (dealer wanted $500 to install an aftermarket unit that only does basic lock and unlock). The instructions included where more than sufficient for me to be able to install in less than an hour. On a side note the directions and diagrams only show the wires on the unit. You will have to figure out the wires you need to tie into on your vehicle. For the 2021 Tacoma you will find some small 24 ga wire in a connector under the kick panel on the drivers side. The lock wire is red and the unlock wire is yellow. You will tie the 2 yellow and yellow/black wires (common) on the unit with the ground you run to power the unit. It’s that easy. I have not connected to the horn or lights at this point but will update if I do. The key fob feels solid and of good quality. I tested the range from inside my office to where my truck was parked outside and it worked through several walls and at least 30 yards away.

Easy to install, works great

At this price I was a little skeptical of the quality and performance of this product. The main unit is small and easy to place out of the way. I mounted this in the driver's door of a Ford truck since I didn't plan on using the park light flash feature. Instructions were vague (reason for 4/5 stars), but with knowledge of your vehicle's wiring and basic electronics it's easy to figure out. I did open the case to inspect the circuit board and found it's actually pretty good construction. All solder joints were clean and solid. Once I verified the circuitry of the main unit, it was installed. Installation will vary by vehicle. Plenty of power so far for operating 2 doors. The most impressive part is the feel of the remote key fobs. They are heavier than expected and feel robust with excellent button response.

I would give this 10 stars if I could. Easy setup, and the directions were pretty straightforward. I installed this in my 1986 Toyota MR2 in about 20 min, taking my time. Would recommend 100 Percent. Great value for the money.

I would not recommend the install to beginners with little car electrical experience. The instruction manual is pretty much unintelligible, so you're left guessing on your own what to do. Unfortunately, I shorted out my car's central locking box and had to repair it because I was left guessing which wires to connect. Now that everything is connected, it works fine. The keyfobs also feel solid and have a good range. I am able to lock/unlock my car in my garage from the floor above. If I were to do this again, I would get the installgear kit. I'd assume the directions are probably better. I mostly went for this kit because I am uninterested in having the trunk pop feature and did not want the extra button for it.

1996 camry xle installed and it works well. The wires are located in passenger side panel by feet. This kit is very simple and works from at least a good 100 feet away. I hooked it up with just door locks and no other features and have had no problems with it so far after 3 months.

Easy to install if you have experience in auto electronics. Can be challenging for some trying to make heads or tails from the diagrams. The unit I received rattled inside. Should have known trouble was ahead. Installed mine in 20 mins after removing the door panel. I'm a past mobile installer. After locking / unlocking 5 times to be sure of installation, the control module fizzled and sparks came out. The inline fuse blew and that was it. Done. Lucky I did not reassemble the door panel. Threw the product away, don't want a refund. Not expensive. Even if I replace, don't feel confident it will last.
