Repairing electronics requires soldering small components
I use a pair of these for all my electronic repairs. They workout perfect for my soldering on green boards. Always helps with a clean and neat job!!

Low tech that works perfectly
I tried the high tech lighted version of a head magnifier but it was so heavy it gave me a headache. This old school one with the various strengths of magnification works great. I was reluctant to try this, thinking the new "improved" one would be better but it wasn't.Simple and old school and gets the job done comfortably.

Comfortable, and good optics, but hard to switch lenses
This is a good magnifier for the money. The headband is padded and adjustable, the magnifier pivots can be adjusted for stiffness, and they give you a good selection of lenses for whatever task you are doing. My only complaint is that, to change lenses, you have to pull out two little plastic pins, then reinsert them for the new lenses, The pins are small and tend to get lost, and I think that they will wear out after several uses. The magnifier comes with some replacements, but it's still the weakest part of an otherwise good unit.

Works well
I use this magnifier for soldering surface mountedComponents. Like other reviews; I find the lens mount cheap; & would rather just have the x3 permanently mounted., The other nuance is that in order to store In the box you have to flip the headband 180 degrees and adjust to fit back in requiring you to readjust to your head every time.Overall it work well and is reasonably priced.

Good Optics - Cheap head set
The optics are very good and clear. Interchangeable lenses. The headset is more comfortable than most and adjustable with a dial but it will still have marks in your forehead from the band. You can't really wear this for extended periods without a headache. You can wear glasses. The unit's quality breaks down because the company uses cheap plastic pins to hold the lense in place. You need to pop out the pins to change the lenses. I broke 1 pin immediately and mangled the other. luckily there are included extra pins. I will eventually just get 2 mm short screws and nuts and drill out the assembly. The headset does not support quick change of lenses. Too bad. It would be trivial to design a simple spacer to hold the lense. If the Company fixed the mounting and puts cloth padding on the front band it would be 4-5 star.

A very important visual tool for persons involved in watch, instrument and small work
Having been involved in watch making and delicate instrumentation for a lifetime career, my original hooded magnifier finally required replacement, having reached it's useful life. Although this type of optical magnifier in my judgement, is far more practical than eye loops and magnifiers attachments to eyeglasses, I was pleased to find this instrument available on Amazon. The quality is very good, and the price very reasonable, considering the fact that this magnifier or one like it, in a watchmaker and instrument parts supply outlet would cost 2 to 3 times more . This product comes with several assorted changer lenses, and I am pleased that I was able to find and buy it on Amazon.

Easy to use! Great magnification!
Great value, convenient to use. Con: a little tight in the headband area. Pros: convenient & clear visibility thru magnifying glass for jewelry making & crafts.

Disappointed in the quality of this product
I am writing to NOT recommend this product based on the problems I have encountered in the past 5 months of use.1. The visor tightener on the left side was too loose to hold the visor up when I would swing the visor from looking straight ahead to wanting to put the visor up and leave it up for a period of time. As soon as I pushed the visor up, tightened the bolt and then released my fingers, the visor would slam down. No matter how hard I tightened the left side, it always loosened.2. The screws on each side of the blue glass frames were not tight enough to hold the blue glass frames I ended up super glueing the two screws on the blue glass frame. Not a good work around because that meant I could not remove the blue glass frame to switch it out for a different magnification.Eventually, the super glue came undone so I had to reglue it.3. Today I noticed that the forehead cushion on the piece had split open. I thought I could tape it together but then I thought 'Why should I have to do that?'I've barely used this equipment and they look like they are 50 years old.My only course of action is to pitch them and write a review sharing my experience with others. Then I thought I am spending more time fixing these glasses than actually using them. I am past the 30 day return period so I am out of luck.Just wanted to let others know of the problems I encountered.
