Noritz NRC71ODNG Outdoor Condensing Tankless Water Heater, 7.1 GPM - Natural Gas

The Noritz unit is less bulky than most other brands, but is efficient and produces very consistent hot water from the first time we turned the tap. We like the preset 120 degree temperature, so we skipped the optional control unit. (Three other warmer presets can also be set without the control unit.) One accessory we added was the pipe shield which gave it a cleaner appearance. The unit is just under 14 inches wide and sticks out from the wall about seven inches. With the added pipe shield it is 36 inches tall. It is fairly quiet, although you can hear the fan when hot water is flowing.

Awesome heater...Noritz is the best!!!!

Very difficult to get parts and/or service locally. We’ve had it for 3 years in a 2nd home and need to replace the igniter every time it sits without use for 3 weeks or more. Can’t recommend unless you go with indoor model and use consistently.

Most of the outdoor water heaters have a single failsafe against freeze and that depends on power. In an actual deep freeze, the power outage is highly likely and then it freezes.Not a good design, even if the unit saves a few cents in energy. It's a hassle when it freezes as it breaks and leaks everywhere and results in much bigger losses and inconvenience.
