Dr. Martens Unisex-Adult 939 Ben Boot Chukka

I'm pretty much a Doc lifer. I started wearing them in my earliest retail gigs and have never stopped even though the jobs have gotten better. That said, my pair that these are replacing have been through fire, snow, rain, mud, dust, ice, and pretty much everything else you can throw at them. I abused them to death and had to get the new pair. they came out of the box and had the main fit as i expected. Slapped some Wonder Balm on the (ran out if Dubbin) and had them on the first night. It's taken me about 16-20 hours of solid wear, but they are breaking in nicely and are the same comfort level I expect. I have wide feet (normally buy EE in US sizing) and these don't pinch at all. I will say that i go a half size up rather than a half size down, but I like to wear thick socks in winter. Overall, it's like having a new pair of old friends. I can't wait to see where these go with me as their predecessors gave me a great base of a lot of adventure.

These boots are less than a year old, light use. Not worn every day, not worn all summer. Dec. 3 the sole split between stitching holding the leather upper onto the sole. The last pair of Doc boots I purchased lasted more than 10 years with the same use. We are more than disappointed in this product. Definitely not worth the $135 we spent!

One of my favorite boot. Very comfortable, easy to walk in for distances with excellent support.Also doesn't hurt that it is a absolutely great looking boot even here in Alaska, but unfortunately they are not pristine any longer do to what they go through on a day to day, but didn't purchase them to stay that way...... They if fact are just a damm good boot......By the way the ones made in England are the better boot.....these are not, but still a damm good boot.

These boots feel great. They took a little while to break in and they were also a little bit large. I purchased the Dr Marten insoles and they feel even better now. They work great when I am at work.

This is my 2nd pair of these. My first pair lasted for 15 years. They take a while to fully break in, but after that they are super comfortable. The leather is nicely oiled and of very high quality. A great buy even at full price.

The seam created where the tongue attaches to the rest of the shoe pressed directly across and hurt my instep. I was disappointed in that.

The good: They look good and appear to very sturdy.The bad: they run very large, but this is a problem with Dr. Martens in some styles. The instep on the right boot is very tight, on the left boot it is slightly tight but wearable. I will probably have to take them to a shoe repair place just to get the right instep stretched. I have been buying Dr. Martins for 25 years and never had a pair with this fit, usually they are perfect or at least will be after they are broken in.
