Helle Futura Knife

I must have gotten a lemon from the way everybody talks about this knife. I guess the quality control for these is non extent , I guess buying a Helle Future Is like playing the lottery ,some people get a good one and othersget all the defects in one knife. To start with the blade had scratches on it ,My other Helle knife was pure mirror finish no scratches !Where the blade enters the handle there are gaps which were filled in with some type of glue .. You can see where the blade goes into the hilt ,the tang of the knife narrows right after the hilt ! The first spacer next to the blade could be used to strike a ferro rod ,it has a burr on it !I guess the hand made sheaths went out the window ,now they are mass producing them. Very inferior leather and are thin but nicely designed sad . The only good things is ,it's hair popping sharp, even the defects it is still a good looking knife and the handle feels good in the hand.Oh yeah the grind looks like it has two bevels weird .. Not happy Oh yes one more thing the cloth that come with the knife is not a polishing cloth , it is very rough and will probably scratch your blade !

Currently this knife only has 1 review, so I thought it would be a good idea to share my thoughts on it.The overall fit and finish is outstanding. The Birch handle is very beautiful and the blade does not have a single scratch mark on it. The knife is extremely sharp out of the box and comes with a scandinavian/scandi grind as you would expect. I can easily shave arm hair with it (a bit gross, but a good point of reference). I haven't actually used the knife yet, so I can't really comment on the edge holding of the triple laminated stainless steel that is used. The sheath is very good and from what I have seen on YouTube, they make the sheaths themselves. The leather is reasonably thick, and it has that awesome new leather smell ( which I love!). It comes with a warranty certificate and a piece of cloth with the Helle logo on it (I assume it can be used for cleaning the blade).Overall I can definately recommend this knife to anyone who is interested in it. I have been collecting knives for a while now and this knife is easily one of my favourites (although my #1 knife of all time is still the Fallkniven F1). I will definitely purchase more Helle knife in the future.

Used it today to debarck a oak sapling for a walking stick. Works great. Managed to cut my canvas jacket by just taping on it by accident.

This is a great knife. It arrived very sharp, very attractive (beautiful)to say the least. I own quite a few knives as i both collect them and also use them daily. This is without a doubt the sharpest knife i have ever bought period! more so than any Cold Steel knife, SOG or Benchmade! This says a lot about the quality of Helle knives. I am already in the process of ordering some of their other models to put to work. They should feel right at home with me in the great state of Alaska since there made in the far north also! Buy one or two, you will not be sorry! They are also a little heavier than i thought they would be as the reviews i read said they were very light. They are light but do have a little heft to them after all because of there quality blades and handles! Oh and the sheath is excellent also, very fine leather. My daughter is a hiker who always carries a sheathed knife. I wanted to surprise her with a knife that had a great reputation and was also beautiful. Knowing that she would never spend that much on a knife I decided after much research to purchase this knife and brand. Well this was the first Christmas in years that I saw my daughter that happy, she knew all about the Helle company and reputation! Needless to say I am very happy with this purchase.

I love this knife. The snap sheath is durable and secure. The knife is sharp, well made, and attractive. It is my everyday carry knife now.
