Excellent jigsaw with brilliant feature
This is a powerful and very well built saw. What I really love is the little blower that blows sawdust from in front of the blade so you can see what you are cutting. I do not understand why other jigsaws have a light but no blower. The light on those models just illuminates the sawdust in front of the blade. With this saw you can see exactly what you are cutting. The case it came in is very solid as well.

A great jigsaw!
As a novice woodworker, I am very satisfied with this tool. It cuts quickly and smoothly with very little tear out. Its' speed and cutting adjustability are adequate for both hard and soft woods. I would definitely recommend this tool.

Excellent quality - great value for the price
This Bosch jig saw has all that is needed for a good price - adequate power, accuracy. The blade changing mechanism is a dream to use with no keys, screw drivers, hex wrenches needed. Nothing to run for, nothing to lose. I would recommend it.

Excellent blade changing mechanism; usual good Bosch design
This saw replaced a Bosch 1587 jigsaw. The mechanism for locking in the blade failed on that unit, but this one has a much easier to use, better-designed locking system. To change a blade, you flip a lever up, pull out the current blade, insert a new one, and flip the lever down. In addition, the saw handles well and has a means of blowing sawdust out of the kerf when you need to so you can see what you're doing. It typically comes in a well-designed case, unlike some DeWalt tools that come in giant cases. There's an add-on dust collection accessory thatreally ought to included in the kit. The direct competitor to this Bosch is DeWalt's 331 jigsaw, which has a similarly quick mechanism for changing blades, although the design is different. When I compared the two mechanisms, the Bosch's looked more robust, but the two are quite similar in terms of capability.

Pros and cons bosche
The old Makita allowed me a dial on the trigger. That meant when I locked the trigger it would give me exactly that speed, no matter how slow. The new wave of jigsaws do not do that. You choose a range and trigger within that range or lock trigger at the top of that range; there are 6 clicks on a wheel between 500-3100 RPM. This is also higher than the old Makita. But not as high as the Milwaukee, which like the old Makita had a stamped steel shoe. I don't like the round feel of these new bosche saws, just too rounded. Now for the pro's, and there are several.Amps converted to power, good. vibration minimal, doesn't jump around. Shoe is as wide as they can get away with, feels stable for height. Trigger is accessible and though isn't extremely smooth, it isn't jerky either. The glide cover for the shoe is very nice. Tool replacement is solid, T-shank blades a *must! Angle settings are easy. Goes fast, and cuts right through, with a guide this is a straight cutting saw, not as wavy as old saws due to good blade control. Doesn't blow all of dust away, but doesn't pile it up either. Long cord. Doesn't have option to advance shoe lead onto work. Seems like manu's have chosen to go this way, and seems they are all using the same concepts now, like the guts are made or designed and they all got on board. This opposed to updating the old style. I've had Makita, B&D, Milwaukee, and now this bosche. Maybe a top of the line Milwaukee would be better for $100 more. This is good, very good and was a buck under one hundred in cost on Amazon. It's a keeper, but won't give you the old slow precise perfection of the previous speed control. And it's body is not as long as the Milwaukee so it will fit into smaller spaces where necessary. I'm not a knee jerk brand follower, so this review speaks for this tool. I'd like to feel that 7.2 amp model. The amps this model has are good enough for me. No problem with Ash, oak.

The Bosch JS365 is an excellent jigsaw for the price
The Bosch JS365 is an excellent jigsaw for the price. To understand where I'm coming from, I've an avid woodworker and have been using wood saws for over 30 years. I've never though much of jigsaws up to this point and have only used them from really roughing out curved cuts in thin soft wood. I've had this negative bias for jigsaws since I've never paid anything more then 50-$60 for them. I've had skill, craftsman and probably worse when I was younger. Now using this JS365, I'm honestly really happy with it. It cuts amazingly fast with the Bosch blades. It cuts pretty cleanly and although I've had some small tear out on one side of a rift cut (Sweet Gum), I hadn't tried a different less aggressive blade on that piece so I won't fault anyone but myself so far. The saw is easy to keep on course and has good line of site to see where you are going. I researched jigsaws over and over before purchasing this one and I was a little apprehensive about paying this much but honestly, this tool feels great and I'm now using it more often then I would have expected because it works that well. Sure, the higher end ones may be even better with nicer blade guides but I think unless you are full time professional or money comes easy for ya, you won't need the higher end ones and you'll really like this one. Well, I did.

Quality product
Any Bosch products I have bought are well engineered and made with quality materials and this jig saw is included. The grip is comfortable, the vibration is minimal, and it is easy to see the material being cut.
