The Egg

Good, but short
This is an enjoyable 8 minute read. It goes in a spiritual direction which is atypical for Andy Weir but it makes you think for longer than the run time, which is typical for Andy Weir. I would be interested for him to explore these topics in longer form.

First 3 stories are brilliant!
Haven't read the rest yet, but we simply must encourage Andy to keep writing. He is a creative genius. I consider myself to be a pretty smart fellow, so my praise is as rare as sci fi genius's are. He's up there with Philip K, Heinlein, Clark, and Asimov.

Great Little Story
"The Egg" is great. I recommend it to all, but I feel like I can't say anything about it without spoiling the full effect of these three large pages. I was locked in from the first sentence. You can read it on Weir's Galactanet website.

8 min audiobook
I was looking forward to listening to a book but it turns out that the book is only 8 min long… very disappointing!

as I know nothing of religion other than some people hate it and others love it
First let me admit that it is going to be very difficult to write a meaningful review of The Egg. Being 8 minutes long and all. I first saw this story on some unknown website somewhere. I read it, got goosebumps all over my body. Read it over and over and over. Shared it with my friends on all the social sites. Read it out loud, sorry R.C. Bray, to my wife. I was mesmerized. Not sure if there is some sort of underlying religious stuff hidden within, as I know nothing of religion other than some people hate it and others love it.Where the magic lays is how every word spoke to my soul, or my spirit, or my subconscious, whatever you want to call it. It made me start asking questions about the meaning of life.Beautifully written, thought provoking, Weir is a master of putting words together.Even though it probably took you longer to read this then this story is long, and it definitely took me longer to write it. Do yourself a favor and give this one a listen. There will be the two of us dollars expense on an audio production in awhile.R.C. Bray delivers every word seamlessly. While managing to differentiate the two characters. I love how you can throw any book at him and he will perform it like there is no other.Audiobook purchased for review by ABR.Please find this complete review and many others at audiobookreviewer dot com[If this review helped, please press YES. What in 8 minutes you ask? Actually in less......
I wrote a review on audible.com but since it does not seem to have translated to here. This book is amazing ( and understand that I struggle to come up with an adjective that I think is singular enough to use for this book). It is very short but the concept it extremely thought provoking. Someone said it made them question life. I was already questioning life, the meaning of it when I read this. And I am not going to say that Aha! I found it here but I am going to say that it moved me and even warmed me in a way. I am fairly 'religious' but have been coming to think that religion is not what life has to be specifically about....there is a pathwaye that threads through existence that is found in all religions. Religion itself I feel is more of a particular discipline that perhaps (if we are lucky) helps us to find our way. Of course many focus on the way that religion divides us but rather at its essence it really serves to unify us....I don't think life is about religion. I think it is about what is left in common when we put all of that together and remain with the common core values...and maybe I am wrong or maybe I am a little bit (or a lot right). What is true is that this 'book' made me think of the inter-connectivity of it all, life I mean ( not religion). What in 8 minutes you ask? Actually in less......without the audible intro and the ending publication info, it is actually closer to 7 minutes
