Great stand!
This is my 5th Hercules stand I have purchased (I still currently use all of them too), I like them far better than any other type I have ever used. I have been recently using 2 basses live and didn't really want to bring 2 separate stands anymore, so I got this one to save time and space in my setup. I like how it folds up into basically a stick that really doesn't take up much space at all, and it's easy to set up. At first I was worried that one of my basses wouldn't fit on it because it's a 6 string and has a wide neck, but it turns out that it does fit, albeit snugly. I have been using Hercules stands for years and they're super durable. They've been loaded in and out countless times, had drum stands stacked on them, my guitars and basses have never once fallen off or tipped over while on them. Sure, they may cost more than other stands, but you totally get what you pay for with these.

A Nice Invention!
Great for a STATIONARY dual guitar stand. But a gigging musician will have to secure those top arms and bottom "stand-offs" with rubber bands or something before loading/unloading this stand. Plus, the top plastic arms seem fragile to me, easily broken.I read a complaint that the dual guitar version was "off balance" and easily tipped when loaded with two guitars. NOT TRUE. Glad I didn't get the bigger three guitar version! I've had electric guitars and acoustic guitars in this stand with no problems for three months now, using it almost every day.So far I really like mine, mainly the ability to put the guitar in a secure place WITH JUST ONE HAND compared to my older dial stand which utilizes a thick rubber band to hold the guitar securely and which requires two hands. (Some day those old bands will break- or disappear!)I teach guitar and notice my students really like my new stand too, easier for them to put their instrument down.I've read multiple complaints about this stand's rubber/foam turning sticky with time. I have yet to see that, but mine is pretty new. Time- or oxidation and heat could cause this to happen later on.We'll see.

This is the best way to hold your stuff
I gave 3 stars for value, but that might be because I leave them places sometimes and have to rebuy. If you are a guitar/bass/whatever player do not trust cradle stands or lean your instrument against your rig. This hangs it so you won’t flex your guitar and it is sturdy. I usually carry a heavy bass on either side so there is a good chance that I have one heavy bass on one side during a show. I don’t recommend bumping it when it’s off balance but since the grips lock down, as long as you grab the stand your gear is safe. But that’s only if you’re dumb enough, like me, to bump into your stuff while on stage.

Had to throw it away after 10 yrs
I bought 2 of them in 2010 and had to throw them both away after 10 yrs because the grips and the other rubberized material got sticky and nasty on your hands. Debating whether I should buy them again. Other than that they worked fine.

Surprisingly disappointed
Surprisingly disappointed with this stand. I'm a working musician and needed a new guitar stand to hold my guitars at gigs. I shopped around and saw this one, and with a name like 'Hercules' I thought I was going to get a tough-as-nails stand. Right out of the box the first thing apparent was that the 'autograb' neck-holders were made out of plastic, and worse, they were very loose and shook around when in transport mode, not tight and strongly locked into place.I thought that I received a defective stand at first, but my bass player, who also owns one, told me 'no, that's the way they are'.Another negative (albeit small) is that at gig set-up, I have to spend time aligning the neck holders with the bottom part of the stand so that the neck holders and the backrests are in alignment. Just takes an extra minute, but always at that crucial time before a gig when the guitars are coming out... a time that I'd rather be doing something else than fooling with my guitar stand. I have to have the guitar in hand/on the stand to get it exactly right; it's not an intuitive set-up.So far, I've solved the looseness problem by using a small bungee cord to strap the neck holders to the main body of the stand, but if I'd've known that I was going to have to do that going in, I wouldn't have purchased it. I still have to segregate this stand from my other stands (or pack it in it's original cardboard box) when going to a gig, as I'm worried that if it jostles around during transport with the tougher mic and speaker stands, it will break. Insofar as aligning the neck holders and backrest, I just take the extra minute at the gig to get the stand set up right. My last observation is that this guitar stand stands taller and wider than my old guitar stand. Keep that in mind; you need some extra stage room for this standThe positives are that it holds my two Stratocasters no problem, and/or my Taylor when I'm playing acoustic (and that's important!!). I haven't experienced any tipping issues when using this stand. It is gentle on the guitars.Don' like giving such a critical review, but I live in a rural area where i don't get to check out most gear in hand; I count on honest user product reviews (so this is more of a public service for people in my situation). My bottom line is that, in my opinion, if you need a tough-as-nails guitar stand for a rigorous gigging schedule, better keep looking. However, this stand would be a great fit for around the studio/house to hold guitars.

Guitar stand of choice
I've been using Hercules guitar stands for years. I have a triple and now a double stand. They are well built, sturdy, and offers peace of mind. I don't have to worry about anyone knocking my guitar off the stand anymore. I don't think there's anything that compares.

Just a guitar stand? The only guitar stand!
I have two single Hercules stands and now this double. I am not at all comfortable putting one of my babies in anything less secure. This double one has acouple of important features. For one thing, when you lift out one guitar you don't have to worry about it tipping over or rocking the other one left in the stand. It is solid and stable. The price for that it has a wide footprint. Too bad. These are very well made. Yeah they are more expensive. I don't store my guitars in cases because i play them all the time. My stuff is worth it and I think these will last forever. I figured out that every scratch and ding on my guitars came from improperly putting them away. (leaning them on furniture or leaving a cord plugged in is a classic lazy mistake).
