Makes it easy to weldhole shut
Works great for welding small holes shut in a fire wall. Need to let it cool down after a few welds.

Worth the money!!
Worth the money!!! I’ve had several different style magnets over the years and this by far is the most versatile. Holds up to the Heat very well. The magnet is super strong for its size and the copper pad has yet to show signs of fatigue or weakness. Have welded several dozen holes with this and have had no issues. It’s not the 1 magnet for all your needs but it’s definitely gonna tried as such. Having the adjustment for the tension and angle of pad works perfectly, can’t say much more except spend the few extra dollars and buy now.

solved a frustrating problem
This item helped with a problem of blowing out a hole when trying to weld it closed. It worked perfectly, a great addition to my tool box.

Works well, but best for small holes.
This product works well for patching holes in sheet metal in confined spaces. It works better than the larger flat plate ones, but not as well as the AGK450 Hole Plug Magnet XL, also available from Amazon. Still, it fits into small areas better.

Excellent for spot welding on thin material
This was a life saver in my automotive sheet metal work. Just finished my first body panel where I started withOUT this product, but finished WITH. Man, what a difference. Quality built, holding up well to constant heat cycles. Doesn't stick to the welds. Cuts down on grinding. Stops much of the burn through that I was getting before I had the backer.Makes the work 100x easier.

where have you been all my life?
I bought this tool to fill some 1/4 inch holes in my car's body where a spoiler used to be mounted. It works exactly as advertised. I have tried using copper plumbing pipe as a backer and it's just not thick enough and burned through and stuck. Also this is pretty small. The pcopper pad is about 1 inch square but is rounded.. I was able to easily shoot the pad with my mig welder and the welding wire melted onto (but did not stick to) it and then fused that puddle into the surrounding metal. It made the job (filling 6 holes) a snap. The magnetic mounting is a god send. I have no idea how I would have done it without it... Being a novice welder and an even more novice body man, I had been searching for a solution for this for some time. I highly recommend this tool for anyone needing a good weld backer for stuff like this. It would have cost me good money to have all those hole filled at a body shop I'm sure!

Works great
I am new to welding and needed to plug a dozen small holes in 18 gauge steel. I watch a couple of videos showing this tool and decided to give it a try. Considering I am still learning to weld, it only took me about three attempts to get it correct. Within about 10 minutes I had this down and was plugging away. The tool works perfectly and does what it is designed to do.

STRONG MAGNET AND EASY TO USE
THIS TOOL REALLY MADE IT EASY TO WELD UP HOLES IN MY 1939 CHEVY FIREWALL. I've BEEN PUTTING THIS JOBOFF FOR MANY YEARS. THIS TOOL MADE IT SO EASY-I HAVE NO EXCUSE FOR NOT WORKING ON IT NOW!
