i bought it to use the pages for making journals but its so beautiful that i will never take it apart-i am treasuring it and i bought a second one to have just in case-its just that wonderful and i will try to get one for my mum

I bought this book from my past for my grandaughter wholoves to paint, and loves nature. A good memory to pass on

I first came across this book years ago and was fascinated by its beauty. As a fellow nature diarist (although with camera, not watercolors and pen), I recently picked up a copy at my local library and had a chance to really SEE it. This time, I could really appreciate what was here - a detailed, month-by-month look at the animals, plants, insects, as well as bits of poetry and observations of the changes of the seasons in the West Midlands countryside where she lived at the turn of the 20th century. This book, to me, really has a timeless feel to it - it could be 1906 or 2006 or 2016, and I still suspect one could go out in the countryside (though not, perhaps, exactly where she lived then) and find similar plants and creatures - or their equivalents here in the USA, or Australia, or wherever one lives. This is one of my favorite books that I have purchased. If you are a nature lover or an artist, buy this for the art if for no other reason!!!

For many years, I had and enjoyed a copy of this book. Enjoyed it so much that I decided to give a copy to a friend. Some things are meant to be loaned, but others should only be given so you can keep your copy! The illustrations & nature observations are fascinating.

Saw this book and wanted one so bad. Couldn't believe I found it for sale on Amazon and a decent price,too. Arrived very quickly from the U.K right before Christmas. Very good condition and a real keepsake. I am thrilled to own this book and hope to find the film they made of the same. I will be ordering another one for a family member when I can find it again. A dreamy day read by the fire with a glass of grape. Thanks so much,Amazon, you made my Christmas extra special!

The product advertised as new, however the back inside cover was ripped, and there was a date written in golden ink on the front page. I would have asked for my money back, but I had promised it as a gift to a friend.

I came across my copy given to me in 1973. I was intrigued. Would it still enthrall me? It does, in every sense, perhaps more so, now with the benefit of a lifetime. I knew this would be appreciated by a good friend in Germany, hence this purchase.I was very impressed with the delivery, also the careful packaging. It arrived 'by return of post'. Excellent. Es totalmente lo que espera, las ilustraciones son preciosas y el contenido del libro en sí es una delicia. Las páginas y algunas esquinas están desgastadas y con signos de haber estado mucho tiempo guardado, pero es también parte de la magia.
