I ordered several packs for a large job and the color was not consistent.

I've never worked with gold leaf before but had seen a video on how to use this one that comes on a transfer paper - I could see how much more difficult handling gold leaf would be without the transfer paper. I managed to get a large antique mirror frame covered - but I probably could have used some proper lessons prior to starting - amazing quality and luster. If it is your first time working with gold leaf - you might want to start off with a small project with little to no decorative molding - I had a lot of decorative molding - which caused me to probably use far more gold leaf than would have been necessary if I had been more proficient - that is not the products fault, but my own. Too - this company's adhesive - a little goes a long way - I managed to cover my large mirror quite a few times - but the sealer - I could have used a much larger bottle of. Both the adhesive and sealer are great products as well as the gold leaf.

Gorgeous! I always wanted to do some metal leafing, and finally got around to it this last week, turning a plain white plastic IKEA pendant lamp into something very different. (See the photo I uploaded. The inside of the shade is copper leaf, and the outside is Rustoleum spray paint in the color "Weathered Steel.") The wax paper made the leaf easy to work with, and there was no waste. And it's just so darned pretty! I'd buy it again -- in fact, I already did buy a second package to experiment with on other projects!

WARNING: when it says "designed to work with flat surfaces," it means it! I bought this to cover the outside of a crystal geode and absolutely none of the leaf came off on the rock, even on the most raised and flat parts! (Yes, I used an adhesive first—the recommended adhesive made by the same brand.) This might work well for truly flat objects, but if your surface is even remotely porous/not smooth or flat, this is not the right thing for you! I suppose it's my own fault for not reading carefully, but I don't think this was expressed clearly. That said, it certainly made no mess!

The metal flakes are so easy to loose a few pieces and even have pieces left on your hand when your finished. It would be easy to rub a flake in your eye. So I wouldn't recommend storing or applying any kind of leaf where you live, this I better for a workshop, garage or elsewhere. Dont get me wrong, its pretty cool stuff.

I loved it. I used it to revamp my curtains and my mirror. It worked great.

Easy to use and a lovely finish.

The product itself works way better for applying than the standard metal leaf by the same company. The simplified adhesion makes for a much more professional appearance on your creation. However, I've been finding that about 20% of the sheets in each package are not in good enough condition to use for something like a flat surface. Several sheets are have bends or crimps in them, or tiny pinholes and other imperfections. I'm not sure if this is happening in production, shipping or handling, but had local stores carried this product, perhaps I could have hand-picked the flawless packages instead of taking a loss.

Ordered gold and silver of this leaf...just used the silver to restore a 50th Anniversary picture frame for my mother...made the frame look brand new! Love it!
