Oregon chain sold by Bosch
This is the replacement chain for the Bosch 36v cordless electric chainsaw,as well as others. Both the saw itself and this chain are thoroughly recommended. This was purchased as a replacement when the original jammed and bent in use. This is one of the lightest chainsaw chains you can buy and so it does stretch in use even in a small chainsaw like the AKE30. In my case with hindsight I should have tightened the chain more on the day it bent to stop it jumping in use, so I have not marked it down for this.Another reviewer suggests buying this one to keep your warranty intact, which is fair, but this chain is not made by Bosch - it is an Oregon chain (and is stamped and marked as Oregon on the chain itself), so whether you choose the one in the Bosch packet, or the Oregon one, at about £1 less at the time of writing, there is no difference.

Good Chain
I have a Bosch electric chainsaw for cutting logs in my garden because it's not as noisy as my petrol saws so it doesn't give the neighbours so much grief. I use it frequently because I cut enough logs to last the winter and this chain has been on the saw for well over a year. I also use it to rough out trunks for carving which involves a lot of cutting along the grain. It has cut mainly hardwoods, mostly Beech and Ash with the occasional bits of Birch and Lime thrown in. It has also cut a variety of softwoods mainly Scotch Pine and Douglas Fir.The chain has performed well having required minimal sharpening and I am very pleased with it. Surprisingly it's no dearer than other chains even though it has the Bosch name on it. This in itself is normally good for hiking another tenner on the price.Highly recommended.

I held off writing a review for this product until I had had the chance to give it a decent try-out. Living in rural France and relying on wood for our heating, a decent chainsaw and saw chain are a must. My AKE 40S came with 2 Oregon chains which are pretty good. Most of the wood we cut around here is Hornbeam and Oak, so they do not get an easy life. The Bosch chain is easily the equal of the Oregon and in my opinion edges them as it does not stretch as much. It sharpens well (I only have a pretty basic electric sharpener). Used in the woodshed it manages to convert between 1 to 1.5 m3 of logs (in 1m lengths) to 300mm, before it needs sharpening, and out in the field it cuts branches and main trunks with minimal effort. Well recommended and I shall certainly be acquiring another.

Check the length of your old chain
Bought this chain for a Bosch AKE35s but when it arrived I found that the chain was too short although on the packaging it states it’s fits my saw , turns out my AKE35s has a 16 inch chain , my advice is to count the drive links, 45 for a 12 inch chain 52 drive links for a 14 inch and 57 links for a 16 inch chain and purchase the correct length and not go on the label on the spare chain

Didnt last long! 4 months with NO hitting flint or nails. Has quality or supplier changed?
This chain, and Ive bought a few, lasted 4 months, 6 months less than the usual ones do. And I didn't hit any nails or flint!Ive checked my purchase history and burn the same amount of wood each year over 20 years living with wood burner. On average a chain lasts me a season of cutting for winter. Has the supplier changed?
