TRUE Wireless Meat Thermometer (Gen 2) for BBQ, Grill, Stove Top, Rotisserie - The MeatStick - Cook perfect meat via Bluetooth for iOS and Android

The product worked really well. Helped me make ***perfect*** steaks. Technology is solid. But, I'm sorry to have to send it back. My concern is privacy. It uses location services. It won't work without it being on. And, they say you should have location services set to "Always" on...for when the app is in background, etc.And, I got an email from the company after my first use. "Congrats on your first cook! " "Congrats! We've noticed that you've just completed your first cook" A bit spooky.They say they don't collect location information. That it is used for the mobile device to find the thermometer.A little too much for me. I wouldn't have bought it if they had disclosed the need to have Location Services turned on for the app and device to work. I just want to cook...I don't want worry about having to turn on/off services on my app.... Designed in California ... made in Taiwan ... own by Soma Labs out of Jersey...don't know. My point...I shouldn't be looking up all of this to make myself feel more comfortable with location services being on. Again, they said that no data is stored.So, I will not knock it down as far as rating because it worked perfectly. I will still give it FIVE STARs. I'm just not comfortable. I have concerns about other technology...so it may be more me than the product. Again, I loved how the steak came out although more steak options would be helpful when choosing oven or option for stove. I did two cookings a reverse sear after oven and a regular sear then finished on oven. I did it at the same time using two thermometers. I had several steaks. Used the two to judge the doneness of the others.

Unable to get the Meat Stick to take a charge, sync with phone. I'm a 30 year Navy pilot, can figure most things out, but this just doesn't work. At the help page of web site, they apologize for any frustration. More testing required before sending to market. Will be returning it. Good job to Amazon who delivered it within 24 hours though.

The couple times I used the Meatstick, it functioned but at wrong temperatures, then it wouldn't charge at all. This, once they work out the bugs, is a great idea. I wanted to give it five stars.

This thermometer charged okay the first time I used it, however the charger did not seem to fit correctly. After a couple uses I needed to charge it again and it would not work. I scrubbed the probe thoroughly and still could not get the charger to work. I attached a picture of what the charger looks like while plugged in.

No written instructions/all videos appear to be made before Gen 2. Plugged in to charge and the light blinks/goes solid/and then blank (out). Will not connect to Iphone 6---not showing up on Bluetooth List. Really disappointed.

FIRST OF ALL I CHARGED FOR 24 HOURS ONLY WOULD FLASH ORANGE (30%) AND NEVER COULD GET THE PHONE CONNECTION SENDING BACK NOT REALLY IMPRESSED YET. AFTER GOING BACK AND FORTH WITH MANUFACTURE AND AMAZON NEITHER WOULD STAND BEHIND THIS PRODUCT AMAZON REFUSES TO HONOR THE PRICE I BOUGHT IT AT AND MEATSTICK REFUSES TO WARRANTY IT BECAUSE I BOUGHT IT ON AMAZON. MEATSTICK SAYS AMAZON SELLS RETURNED AND DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS THRU THEIR WEB SITE AND CANT HELP WITH THEIR CRAPPY PRODUCT RUN AWAY VERY FAST FROM THIS PRODUCT

This sounded like a great idea but it doesn’t work. Tried it a few times and the temp is never accurate, not even close - can be 20 degrees off. Useless. Plus has no range, have to be within 5 feet of the oven. Don’t buy wate of money.

Gave this to my husband for Father's Day. He smokes lot of different meat on the smoker, so he has wanted a wireless meat thermometer for a while. He LOVES this, as he can read everything on his iPhone! It buzzes when meat reaches temperature.
