Great first hand look at the Holocaust from a survivor
Great first hand story of what the author Henry Golde went through in surviving the Holocaust. I'm pretty sure it's the only book I've ever read on the topic and I found out about it through the grapevine as Henry's son is a friend of mine and a mutual friend told me his father had written this book, so I looked into it. Very glad I did.Hard to believe that people did, can do and continue to treat each other so poorly. I felt right there beside him as he explained what happened and the emotions surrounding each step of the way from being incarcerated to finally being freed from his captors. It makes me want to read more on the topic and really see how the Nazi party ever came to be so powerful, how so many people could be so intolerant for so long... and not really all that long ago historically. The Epilogue is amazing. In it he says: "If we believe in one God, why do we hate each other so much. Hate is nothing and love is everything."To see the worst humans can do, to live through what he did and maintain that attitude is worth the price of admission in my mind. Everyone should read this book.

Henry Golde lived WWII in concentration camps.
I loved reading this first person account of several concentration camps though Henry's experience was deplorable. It's not often that such an easily readable book is first person experience. Henry Golde is a warm and loving man. He has spoken to 10s of thousands of people and always his message is Love & Forgiveness. I know because I stopped by his Appleton apartment to buy some copies to give to teachers. We talked for hours. Reading Ragdolls is like sitting with him. Buy it, read it and give it to someone you love. This is how we will never let such an atrocity ever again happen.

Great retelling of the holocaust, very real and personal
The author is a bit of a local hero, and I thought it would be good to read the book. It is not a huge blockbuster of a book, not glossed up by editors and a publishing house, but that makes it more personal and real. This guy really lived through a lot, and then lived a regular life in the U.S. after surviving.Great story that should not be forgotten.

Wonderfully Perfect!
Met Mr.Golde twice, he is the most inspiring person I've ever met. Already have a signed book of his, but wanted an extra copy to serve as my "lend" copy that i can borrow to other people so they can read his incredible story. I Have lent out my own copy twice and both times the people have almost never returned it to me without my incessant begging for months on end...I could not take that chance again, so i purchased this copy and lo and behold i've already lent it out and gotten it back promptly and in the same, great condition! :)

Mr. Golde’s Enduring Legacy
Mr. Golde was a regular speaker in my area for years and educated thousands about the horrors perpetrated on the Jewish people during WWII and how he was able to forgive. He passed away recently and this book remains to tell his extraordinary story.

Gave the book to a friend who is interested in the subject and she enjoyed reading it
Wrong subject. I didn't look at the book carefully enough before ordering. My mistake. Gave the book to a friend who is interested in the subject and she enjoyed reading it.

Holocaust Survivor
It is a sad testimony of our world as we are still continuing to repeat the same mistakes! I applaud Mr. Golde for reliving this part of his life so that we don't forget! Mr. Golde spoke to my 7th grade advanced reading class in the 90's. I didn't realize until recently that he had written a book. I recently read another Holocaust survives book and she has not been able to forgive! The other book left me with an unsettled feeling.
