This is for popup drains only
We ordered this unit and when it arrived, the jaws were too small to span the drain. I guess the "Pop-Up" style stoppers have a smaller cross in the bottom of the drain. This unit is very nice, it just won't fit all drains.

Great shower/ tub drain removal tool
I work in an apartment complex. I removed, clean, and caulk shower drains when ever I have a move out for preventative drain leaks. This tool gets the job done. Now I don't have to keep on bending my channel lock handles while removing drains.

Don't be in a rush to purchase this for your tub drain . . .
It's not advertised as a bathtub drain removal tool and . . . sure enough -- it wasn't quite wide enough for my tub drain. Ah, well. Seems solidly built - I'm guessing it would work fine for a sink drain so . . . giving 4* since it would be nice to have something loud and clear on product description advising one to measure the tub drain dimensions first to determine if this tool will work. I ended up purchasing the "Superior Tool 06020 Tub Drain Wrench (Dumbell Wrench)-Dual Ended Drain Wrench that fits 3/8 or 1/2 Inch Ratchet Wrench" for getting the tub drain loosened -- it worked like a charm.

Specialize, clawfoot tub, drain remover, etc.
My husband ordered this to remove the old drain off the clawfoot tub and I think there’s some other things you can use it for. He’s very happy with it and it’s purpose. It’s well-made and sturdy easy to use and it was very quick that it got here to us. It’ll be great because we can use it in the future and I were very happy with the quality.

you get what you pay for
At first glance you can see it's made of cast material. The crossbar area is shallow and does not fit around the bars and does not even reach them. The prong area is narrow and you will need to shave the prongs to fit around anything. The product also bends fairly easy. In all this product was a waste of money. There are better products out there I would look at them unless you need it right now.

This is not the tool I was looking for
I have no reason to rate this purchase low, but I also cannot tell you if it works. You see, what I failed to realize is that this tool here can only be used for a more modern rather than the forty-year-old one I am attempting to remove. Before purchasing, make sure your drain has cross members that divide the drain into quarters. If you have an older type that has only two small nubs on opposite poles of the drain, like me, you are going to need another tool, which is yet to be found. But holding the tool in hand, it feels solid and like it would be a fitting tool for the job it needed, so I plan on holding on to it, I feel it may come in handy down the road.
