Terrific addition to stereo system.
I recently purchased, and reviewed, the remarkable Ocean Digital portable radio, and although this one is not as user friendly, it is still a strong 5-star. i have had PLENTY of WiFI radios over the years, all of which I have hooked up to my stereo system.. I find the sound of this one brighter, crisper, more alive. I probably have the weakest wifi signal of anyone in Washington DC, but once this radio found it, and locked in (took a few attempts with password), the connection is secure. The remote is handy, but, frankly, you have to be pretty close to the screen to read the options and results -- although using the remote to turn on and off the radio from across the room is a plus. I prefer setup "on-screen" to remote control, but I can work with this one fine. Once I put my eight "favorite" stations into memory (took some time but by no means much time), they were good to go, and secure. A nice bright screen and a minimal footprint. Of course there are no speakers --as there are not speakers for most stereo components until you attach them. My Polk speakers are great -- and far beyond what any "radio" could match. I am not a techie, but I am patient, and I read instructions. Patience patience, I say to reviewers who gave up or almost gave up. Once your configurations are set, the radio is secure, bright, attractive, and easy to use. If, for a few minutes, you pull out your hair until you get it right, save the hair and paste it back after 30 minutes or so. A fine unit.

Works Very Well, So Far
After having a different brand Internet Radio fail after a few weeks and another brand arrive from Amazon dead-on-arrival, I was wondering if spending a little more for this Ocean Digital WiFi Internet Radio FM Tuner Adapter Model DBA-03R Bluetooth Receiver would make a difference. Apparently it did. Setting up the Wi-Fi went without a hitch, but I was initially put-off by the user-interface and had difficulty finding the stations that I wanted to connect. Once I got past that challenge and saved my stations as "favorites" I found this Ocean Digital WiFi Internet Radio FM Tuner Adaptor Model DBA-03R Bluetooth Receiver fairly easy to use and reliable. It's connected to high-level stereo inputs on the preamplifier of my component stereo system. It's small size is unobtrusive. It has no wired Ethernet connection, so Wi-Fi is the only option. As with many modern TV sets, the only way to control this receiver is with the included remote. I would have preferred that this device had equivalent control buttons on the device itself but.... My cable Internet connection has a speed of more than 400 mbs enabling me to stream HD 3-D video. My tri-band router provides fast Wi-Fi connections. While I don't know how well this Ocean Digital WiFi Internet Radio FM Tuner Adaptor Model DBA-03R Bluetooth Receiver would perform if my Internet connection was slower, I do get very good stereo audio through this Wi-Fi receiver which I can enjoy all day without listener fatigue. If I am able to enjoy a few years of reliable service from this Wi-Fi radio tuner, it will prove to have been a good investment.

Not strong enough signal
I returned this because i found it just couldn't drive my amp and speakers. I understand that it doesn't have a preamp or amp, but to get audible sound i had to turn the volume on my amp to the hughest possible. I figured i mught blow something out. Also, the bluetooth connection worked, but wasv really almost inaudible. Too bad because it's otherwise user friendly.

A great addition to an existing sound system
I have an internet radio that's about ten years old. Unfortunately, the manufacturer stopped providing firmware updates, so the radio is unable to play the newer formats, which is why I bought the Ocean W03. The Ocean W03 is an extremely compact design, due in part to its lack of an internal speaker and amplifier. It has both analog and digital outputs on the back that allow the user to connect it to an external sound system. In addition to Internet radio stations and streams, it will also receive traditional FM and AM stations over the air, using an external antenna that comes in the box. You can add stations and audio stream URL's to the radio directly through the interface (using the remote control) or by using the iPhone/Android app. If you use the app, the only thing you need to do using the remote control is configure your WiFi network settings. Once WiFi is configured, all other settings can be done through the app. Despite the unit's compact size, the color TFT screen is bright and easy to read. Configuring the WiFi was simple. Rather than using multiple presses of the keys on the remote to get the character you want, the remote lets you scroll through the alphanumeric characters directly on the screen, using the remotes UP and DOWN arrows. You can also register the device's MAC address with MediaYou.net. This allows you to search for stations through their web interface and add them to your personal (no cost) account. These selections are then sync'd to the radio the next time it is rebooted. This is a really great little internet radio, providing you have an external sound system or speaker (with a built-in amplifier). It can also be used as a Blue Tooth receiver, so you could use it to stream music via Blue Tooth from your phone or tablet, through the device to your sound system. NOTE: It will not steam FROM itself to an external device. I've emailed customer support both pre and post-sale, and received prompt accurate information in response. Bottom line: The Ocean W03 is a great value that does everything one might want an Internet radio to do.

No speakers. Comes with remote control
FYI There are no speakers that come with this. I knew this when I bought it. But I thought I could hook up Bluetooth speakers as it says there is Bluetooth. But u can’t do that. The Bluetooth only works by connecting to your iPhone or other device. I have connected old computer speakers which is fine. But the cords are a bit annoying. I was excited for the remote control which is one of the reasons I bought it. But u can’t control volume from remote control. Only manually from speaker. But u can mute it from the remote. It is not touch screen and there are no buttons on the device. U can only operate using the remote control. A part from that it works well. There are loads of radio stations. U can search via topic. It is a pretty cheap compared to others if u don’t mind the downsides.

Full Featured, Versatile, Good Experience
I bought this to replace an indoor FM HD tuner that died prematurely. I was initially concerned because some of the reviews of this product were dubious, but it's worked very well for our needs so far. This product requires some figuring out. If you can find your way around smartphone apps and can configure a wifi network device, you'll have no problem. Once you have gotten past the setup - which took us only around 15 minutes - the only problem you'll have is deciding what you want to hear. This device gives you a CRAPTON of stuff to hear!! It comes pre-programmed with a lot (thousands, at a guess) of "stations" from countries around the world. You can start from a list of country names and drill down to individual cities and their stations. Or you can start with a list of music genres, select the specific kind of music you want (Jazz, Classical, etc) and then select the locality and station. However, the device works better still if you install the smartphone app on your phone and use that instead. For starters, it will update the firmware in this device and the list of available stations. The smartphone app has many additional control capabilities and features. We used it to upload a startup screen image to personalize the player, for example. As others have mentioned, you have to click through a hefty EULA in order to use the smartphone app. In my opinion these EULAs are uniformly crappy deals for anyone but the large corporations that insist on them. But that's your call.

Serves its purpose well . ..
Like others, I ordered this hoping it would fill the niche formerly occupied by a certain other product I bought and paid for, only to have it surreptitiously obsoleted by a powerful third party tech giant. It does that, and I'm happy to have a classical radio source feeding into my vintage house stereo once again. How did the other unit differ from this one? 1. The display during programming on the other one was more colorful to look at; this one is rather plain, but it does tell you the outside temperature. 2. The other one had a usb port that could be used to play my own music; this one doesn't. 3. The other one would pick up some online services such as Pandora, this one will bring up "Spotify"; but I never used any of that anyway, just the internet radio function. What does this have that the other one did not have? 1. It will receive broadcast FM; I don't use that, but it is there and it works for me, using just the thin wire antenna that came in the box (there was a larger--presumably more powerful--antenna in the box as well). 2. This one will accept your "bluetooth" input. 3. This one will show you the current stock market averages. 4. This one you control via remote, the other one had buttons on the unit. They function about the same. As with most such stuff, you just have to climb the learning curve on how to operate it. Two apparent "issues" with this one at first blush--both resolved--were: (1) the time display in standby mode defaults to a pale, thin analog clock face and the weather info display, once you set your location, defaults to showing temps in degrees Celsius. It took some hunting down, but there is a way to convert that clock to a bold digital display that can be read from across the room and to convert the temps to degrees Fahrenheit. Use the little "house" button (upper left corner of the bottom tier of nine buttons on the remote). Scroll right to go into "Configuration". Then hunt down what you need to find. (2) At first, I got no sound. There are two buttons on the remote, down at the 5 o'clock position relative to the main "OK" switch, that have little bell icons, one with a '-' the other with a '+'. Apparently, those control the strength of signal output on this unit. After running the '+' all the way to the max, I got a signal that my receiver/amp could use to drive the speakers using "normal" volume level on the receiver/amp. After that, volume is controlled by the receiver/amp. I suppose different systems may vary in that regard--maybe if you're just feeding the signal to small, self-powered PC speakers the default level is OK--but there is that adjustment and it worked for me.

Excellent internet radio with no monthly subsription charges!
You want to listen to a music genre? Podcast? this is it... Excellent sound quality, super easy interface Dislikes? the manual is sort of funny and probably printed a few software updates before.... The device itself is super easy to set up and everything is self explanatory thanks to the "home" button Love this and will use it a lot! Also for those homesick... what is easier than listen to Bayern Rundfunk stations ? without a Grundig Sattelite? this device makes it possible I am really satisfied with this tuner! For those who want to run in herds and listen to Pandora, Tidal etc... live and let live!
