These blocks were advertised as suitable for ages 3+. But they are difficult for adults to build with. My 4-year-old grandson likes to make shapes with the rods and steel balls, but trying to make any of the shapes you suggested ends in tears and frustration.

Fun! But hard fir younger kids to piece together.

We all have fun playing with this item so much that we have ordered a few sets so we can all play at the same time. Good quality, very educational, all around fun for everyone.

I was a little leery of the small steel balls but it is a very cute toy. I got the smaller one but should have gotten the larger one.
