Slimline Pen Kit - Gold, 10 Pack

follow up review, I bought this pen kit as a beginner wood turner and I will say this about them, they are easy to figure out and they are pretty cheap. If you are looking for a cheap way to make a bunch of "decent" pens then this is the way to go. I think 1 per 20 I purchased had the problem of the clip coming loose and spinning freely, but not all of them do that. I give it 5 stars because of the cost, they are cheap, but they are decent enough quality for a beginner wood turner.

These look absolutely beautiful when completed. Out of the five I have turned so far, the mechanism in one had incomplete threads where the ink tube screws in. Nothing I can't fix as soon as I find my tap and die set.[edited] I initially said the ink tube was too loose in the nib and gave it 4 stars. After writing with these a bit more, it doesn't bother me at all. It would be nice if they were tighter, and I'll probably try to figure out a way to shim it up a little bit, but they're fine.

This kit turns out some nice looking pens. The mechanism is a little lose, so if you are like me and apply a lot of pressure when writing the ink cartridge recedes. I've given a few of them away and have gotten no complaints.

Great hardware for making a pen for your family and friends. Cheaply made but looks great. Everything lines up nicely, no complaints. The "gold" is a little too gold, that's about it. There is an obvious difference in contrast compared to most slimline kits which means you can not mix this hardware.

These are amazingly easy to use. We've made about 100 pens with them and it's so much fun. Problem is we only have about 40 left because all our family and friends want 4 or five of them. I like having them all the same color so that anyone looking at them can change the tops and bottoms around if they have a favorite bottom here and a favorite top there. We are doing it for fun but it would be very easy to sell them and make a really good profit.

From amateur to professional. This is the best to turning wood ball-pen. You can also buy your favorite vintage wood blocks.

These are very nice looking kits. The mechanisms are very smooth in operation. Unfortunately, the matching pencil kits have a high probability of crushing during assembly. But for this item, I would recommend it.
