Nostalgic Trip to a Simpler Time - Warm, Comforting, and Delicious!
I recently purchased the Horlicks Original Classic Malt Plain in the 1000-gram package from Amazon and my taste buds have never been so grateful. This isn't just a beverage, it's a delightful trip down memory lane, each sip evoking fond recollections from my childhood.Upon opening the container, the familiar sweet scent instantly transported me back to simpler times, providing a comforting sense of nostalgia. But it's not only about reminiscing. I must emphasize that the quality and taste of this Horlicks is simply unparalleled. It still boasts that same sweet malt-milky-creamy taste that won my heart years ago and has remained consistent in delivering that homey feeling. The instructions suggest adding the powder to hot water or hot milk, but personally, I find a combination of both to be absolutely sublime. The blend of the hot liquid with the smooth, creamy malt is a match made in heaven. The flavor is rich yet not overwhelming, giving you the perfect balance that teases your palate and leaves you longing for more.I found that three tablespoons of Horlicks per 8 oz of liquid yielded a satisfyingly sweet concoction. However, one of the best things about Horlicks is the flexibility it provides. You can easily adjust the amount to your preference, making it less or more sweet depending on your liking. All in all, the Horlicks Original Classic Malt Plain is more than just a beverage - it's a sweet invitation to relive cherished memories while creating new ones. It warms you up from the inside and provides a comforting embrace that only few products can deliver. With its nostalgic taste and versatile preparation, it's a delightful addition to any kitchen pantry. Five out of five stars, and highly recommended for anyone seeking a classic beverage that feels like a warm hug in a mug.

Interesting
As with, I expect, a great many other Americans, I had never heard of this product until I started watching a show called “Call The Midwife”. Being a bit of a history buff, I was drawn to see how 1873, and beyond, tasted. Or at least a small part of it. To me Horlicks (original malt) reminds me very much like drinking the milk left after eating a bowl of Raisin Bran. Sort of like thick sweet milk with a few small soft lumps floating in it. I will add that the lumps could very possibly be my own fault, as the instructions don’t exactly say how much is contained in a “heaping spoonful”. I will add that it took a little while to get the powder to dissolve into the milk. One is also given the choice to have the drink heated or cold. I chose cold. It may very well break down better if enjoyed heated. I gave the product 5 stars as I really have nothing to compare it with other than hot chocolate, and I’ve never had that cold. As I didn’t want the company to get a bad rating from my ignorance, I gave it a 5. I will say that it seems to be helping some with the indigestion from my lunch. So, added bonus there. Thank you for your time.

This is absolutely horrible stuff, but to each his or her own.
I was reading an article about the old "Lum and Abner" radio show and saw a drawing of the eponymous characters stocking cans of Horlicks on their store's shelves. I'd never heard of it and that got me curious so I googled it. I'm a fan of Ovaltine as well as Nestle's Carnation Malted Milk powder so I thought I'd try Horlicks, which is a "Classic Malt" product. The product arrived quickly and I made it according to the package directions the night it arrived- tonight! So, it smells exactly like wet burlap. I'm not kidding. It tastes worse than wet burlap. Perhaps old wet burlap that has been in the barn for a few months. I checked the package and it actually says, "PKD:05/22/2007". The package also says, BEST BEFORE TWELVE MONTHS FROM PACKING". That's more than 15 years ago! Holy smokes! I guess I drank about 30 ml before I just couldn't stand it and then I saw the manufacturing date. Not good. Not returnable. However, I called Amazon and I have to say without question they immediately refunded my payment of $11.57. So I am a happy, as I always am with Amazon customer service, and I am now a more educated (about Horlicks) customer.I've been thinking about the packing date. Perhaps it's "PKD:05/22" and the 2007 is part of a long serial number. If the product is indeed 15 years old, that could explain why it smells and what it tastes like. If it's from May of 2022, then it's just a horrible smelling and tasting product on its own. I guess that's worse. At least that's my opinion. God bless you if you like this.

Great price for a wonderful product.
Super fast shipping on a hard to find malt product in the U.S.A. I add it to hot chocolate mix and it really brings it up a notch.

Love having it again, yum!
I was introduced to Horlicks by a friend some years ago, and liked it but somehow it left my memory bank. It came back after seeing it on the internet and I am thoroughly enjoying the reunification. It has replaced my morning cup of coffee. Try it !!

Delicious!
I love this malt flavor. We have it on ice cream, in milkshakes, and in our hot chocolate. It’s not as sickly sweet as the stuff they sell in the US.
