Good
This was a pretty good read. Lily Gilmore was about to walk down the aisle when she catches her sisters screwing her fiancee. Lily vowed she would never follow in her mothers footsteps with a cheating husband so she leaves Seattle and makes a life for herself in Santa Monica. Lily has made a promise to never get involved with another man again then she meets Luke Matthews. Luke lost his fiancee in a car accident and has not wanted to move on. I liked both of these characters and the secondary characters as well. Luke and Lily's best friends have their own side stories Sam and Gretchen as well as Lucky and Giselle. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Love in Between
I cant wait til the 2nd one is out so I can see how this love will grow!!Lilly wedding day is a joke to her son-to-be-husband and her sister(apparently) because they have bee screwing around with each other. When lily finds them on her wedding day screwing she calls off the wedding and runs.. she ran and never looked back. she moves to SD to be closer to her two best friends and to start fresh. drama free get her life in order type thing. I can dig it.Sam is her wonderful new neighbor and they become friends fairly quick ( it happens) its funny because when he says he lives with his bf she automatically thinks he's gay but still a cool guy..Luke is Sam's room-mate and he's had a very hard year or so .. he lost the love of his life in a horrible car crash and is having some problems coping.. of course he puts on a good front to most but people who are close to him knows the difference. when Lily first moved next door he was an ass to her saying things in a rude way, not talking to her etc. Sam gives him hell over it. over a day or two he realizes he has been a total tool towards her but don't know how to recover. 2 or 3 days later her car brakes down and he so happens is to come and help her out.. a lil awkward at firstCharley is a sweet little thing.. she's Sam's niece she is also Lily's student crazy coincidence right haha .. Charley she may be cute.. she may be sweet but she is also a little ..."love matcher" would be the word i use... she tells her teacher about her uncle and vise versa.. but she do not say their names.. (sneaky right?) any ways that same day Charley see's them and names go with faces and shock comes..Charley invites Lily to go with them to the carnival and things start to (i say) gradually change over the next few days.. yes they have fun together and yes there are attractions and they realize it and go from there.. they time frame is a little hard to read it could have been 1wk or 2wks when they decided they loved each other but you cant but a timeline on love so I say they feel hard and nothing could change it (by the way good for them esp because of their pass)and of course there are a few hurtles in the road mainly for Lily(family issues) and Luke getting his dream going job .. but Luke is there to help in anyway possible so they won't loose each other in the "battle field"I think Maddie (Charley's mom) was a little to fast to forgive I mean don't get me wrong to forgive and forget is an awesome thing but it just seemed so fast and a child is involved but we shall see if he stays in her life this timeanyways Gretchen has Sam ....Giselle in the weirdest way has Lucky I don't want to spoil the book.. I think I kind of have already who knows but I really did enjoy this read and can't wait for the next

Issues with presentation, repetition and redundancy
Love in Between is the first storyline in Sandi Lynn's new Love series. The premise focuses on Lily and Luke-two twenty-something adults who have suffered heartbreak and loss. Both believe they are broken and unable to mend, but none more so than Luke who lost the only woman he has ever loved. What ensues is the building of a relationship between two strangers who begin the slow process of healing and finding themselves once again. This is also a story that introduces several secondary characters-friends and family-and each plays an intricate role in Luke and Lily's life. From the sister and mother who betrayed Lily to the friends who find themselves in relationships of their own. And in the end, you know that there is more to the story than meets the eye-for I believe Luke and Lily may have briefly met -one year before. But, I did have several issues with this novel-more so on the writing style-than the premise and plot. There is a difference between developing a story and being told. I felt that the author was hand-holding the reader throughout the entire novel-it read like a manuscript for a movie more than a story that wanted to be told. There were so many unnecessary details and directions-e.g. we knew who was speaking yet we were told at the beginning or end of each sentence. There is also the issue of redundancy. The author used the words babe and baby so many times, I cringed. At one point I suspected the couple in question could no longer remember each other's names. Although it was used as a form of endearment, the number of times it was used was overwhelming. Also, whenever Lily used 'colorful' language, she was always told to 'watch her mouth' or 'watch her language' as though she was a five year old child. Again, the use of this particular phrase was used too many times in my opinion. I do not have an issue with swearing in storyline, but the character did not use graphic or sexually graphic language, so I had to question the constant and obvious need to chastise a grown woman. Was it a form of control? I don't think so but I did feel it was unnecessary to the storyline. It is truly difficult to rate this novel because of the overwhelming issues in the writing style. I had noted the number of 5 stars reviews and I won't deny anyone the right to their opinion. But sometimes, a review is more than just about whether the storyline is one you enjoyed-it is about the quality, the developing of the story and the author's presentation. In this, I was disappointed. Hopefully, in the next instalment, Sandi Lynn understands that as readers, we are capable of understanding the unwritten plot details as well as those printed on the page.

Loving Luke and Lily!
This was a really good read. We meet Lily on her Wedding day, about to walk down the aisle, when she finds her sister, the maid of honor!, with her Fiance. Her worst nightmare scenario possible. What a scumbag, he didn't even try to give her any excuses. She runs, goes into hiding after making a huge scene at the Church. She eventually goes back to her childhood home to pack her bags, only to be confronted by her Mom. Who we learn, knew that her sister and fiance had been involved. She moves to be nearer her two best friends Giselle and Gretchen, In Santa Monica where she meets her new neighbor Sam, what a gentleman. He helps unload her truck, she also briefly meets Sam's roommate Luke. He comes across as a harsh, miserable and unfriendly person. Uninterested in anyone or anything. He is carrying some baggage too!Luke is the handyman at the apartments they all live in and they start off on the wrong foot, she walks in on him in a compromising position with some girl. It was quite humorous at first, Lily certainly took no nonsense. I loved how she was a tough cookie, with a vulnerability about her. SHe has run away from her past and only gave enough information out to stop people prying.Luke was harbouring a sad past, he had been living his life without living! He has been existing, and although he doesn't realise it, Lilly is about to knock his world off its axis. They are friends first, both just observing the other, although you could feel something was growing.I loved how the story knitted together, bringing Luke, Lily, Sam, Gretchen, Giselle and Lucky together. How the 3 couples lives interacted with each other. They soon become a good group of people. Not to mention Charley, Lukes niece, what a firecracker, never underestimate an all-seeing, all-hearing, all-knowing 9 year old. Luke and Charley had a great relationship. He was also very protective of his sister Maddie, Charley's mom. He was very close to her. He also had a great network of friends, and really nice parents. Both Luke and Lily had a lot to work through, and even though they took things slowly, you could feel that something deep was brewing between them.Helping each other to work through their past issues is not all plain sailing but they have a connection and its going to take a lot to sever that connection.Lily starts to build on her broken relationship with her Mom, she has a lot of bridges to cross. I hope it works out for them, even after the bloodline bombshell. Then we have the heart wrenching hospital visit, where Sam and Gretchen have been involved ina car wreck.Cant wait for the next instalment.

Could do better.
I really liked the sound of this book. But I struggled with this from the very beginning. In fact I didn't even get very far into the story before deciding to DNF it.The wedding scene.... or rather the bride discovering her almost husband and sister together just mere minutes before she was due to walk down the aisle???? and then we don't get to read what they are doing... just a "I opened the door and closed it again before running off"..... and then suddenly her almost husband is outside with her trying to coax her back inside. We could have had a peek at what she was looking at, but the author went with the sightly easier option and ignored it.And thats just for starters....What actually made me put down this book was this...Wow, you're really serious about this girl" I said.I really like her man, She's all I ever think about."I walked over and put my hand on Sam's shoulder. "That's great. I'm really happy you found someone.....We're talking about a guy who has met up with a girl twice. Two times. One of which was a group meeting with two other girls, the other was their one date. That there was my limit with this book. I was pretty much ok to gloss over the other issues but, those issues coupled with the apparent 'instalove' of Sam and Gretchen was a big no-no.... and then I looked at some reviews and it would seem the same can be said for Luke and what's her name.... Lila? Lily... And there's the other problem, the female didn't even stick with me for an hour after I put this book down.

Didn't "feel" this one, lacked emotion for me but a good read
Love In Between - Sandi Lynn3 to 3.5 stars!!"...It's called fate, Lily. You were meant to find out about them that day."I loved Sandi Lynn's Forever Black series so was really looking forward to this one. Whilst I loved the characters I just felt that I hadn't really connected with them throughout this story, I just didn't feel the emotion that I usually feel with Sandi's writing. I like to engage with the couple, feel what they feel and live through what they are dealing with, but I just didn't feel it with this one and that left me feeling a bit disappointed. If I had to guess, I would have also said that this had been written before the Forever Black series, maybe it has? The writing style seemed weaker, a lot of things were spelled out for you as if the author was trying to force you to see what she wanted you to see, whereas normally the words and story alone should do this for you. I must say though that humour was prevalent throughout this book and there were a lot of laughing out loud moments and this really added to my enjoyment of this book. However, I really enjoyed the story despite the above. Luke and Lily were great characters, both broken for different reasons and that despite the initial "I don't really like you," you could tell that they were suited for each other and maybe just maybe they could help pull each other through all the crap that they were both dealing with. I had my fingers crossed for these two.Firstly, I have to say, the beginning is a real WTF moment. If my sister did that to me, she would be "dead" to me too, so I can totally see where Lily comes from here. The part that I struggle with the most is the mothers attitude. She was your daughter, no matter what, that comes first and foremost and no mother in their right mind would do what she did, whatever the motive. I would have disowned her too...so therefore, yes, I was totally on board with Lily leaving and finding a new life for herself.Luke, totally and utterly emotionally shut down, tragic past that he has yet to come to terms with. I loved this guy. I loved the interaction he had with his niece, totally and utterly adorable. Even though he was down, he never let it show to her and did everything he could to support her and his sister, he was truly admirable.I loved the side characters, especially Sam. Glad that he found love too, although why Lily thought he was gay I don't know.So back to Lily and Luke, they have a lot to work through, a lot of internal struggles. Lily needs to learn to trust and Luke just needs to learn to move on and open himself up again. Will these two be strong enough for each other? Can the past be dealt with so that a future together can become reality?"...because when you are not with me, I feel like life has stopped until you're by my side again."I will be reading the next in the series as I have my theories and I want to see if they play out the way I think. I would like to think that their story is far from over and am hoping that I "feel" them in the next instalment."I'll be there with you. I'll be there for you, and I'll be there to catch you if you fall."[...]

Another easy to read Sandi Lynn book.
This is another well written book by Sandi Lynn. It’s a similar format to her others, boy meets girl and they eventually fall in love so there’s usually a happy ending. Lily finds her husband to be with her bridesmaid behind closed doors but Lynn doesn’t go into detail what they are doing so that’s left to the imagination. Obviously Lily walks away despite him begging her to stay. Moving to Santa Monica for a fresh start Lily meets Luke and so it begins. An easy to read book which Sandi Lynn fans will enjoy.

Ugh! Don’t bother
I got this as it was free, I would have been annoyed paying money for this. The premise sounded good but I couldn’t finish this book. I felt like I was getting whiplash just from the back and forth emotions. While I feel for the situation Lily was in I felt she found every guy she met was ‘the hottest ever seen’. Though Luke seemed pretty solid as a character I felt the rest of the characters were way too shallow, as was the narrative.
