Desert Gardening for Beginners

LOVE LOVE LOVE!
This book is fantastic. I feel like it was written by a "Bob Ross" character in the 80s who absolutely loved his garden in the desert. Moving to Arizona from Washington gardening is completely different and this book walked me through everything from planting the seeds to building the beds to planting transplants and watering. I have recommended it to many friends.

Perfect for Arizona Gardeners.
This is such a great book. It has some very helpful information and I love the monthly guides. If you live in Arizona, this is definitely a great book.

Small, but great on the fundamentals
I can see why people complain about the price of this book. Look carefully - it is 5x8 - pocket book size - and only 100 pages. $31.95 is pretty pricey for that size. I got mine used for $8, so I was fine with the price. As a transplant from Iowa to Arizona, I found the book extremely helpful in learning the basics of gardening in the desert. It gives the fundamentals of soil composition, Arizona heat, water issues, and pests. If you're a transplant like me, get this book. You need it.

Pretty basic
The charts in the back are useful. The composting information is pretty good as well. The rest of the book is pretty basic.

Very Informative Book
Being new to the desert and wanting a vegetable garden, I first checked this book out from the local library. It is so packed with information I realized I would need to purchase it. It is very easy to read yet highly informative covering vegetable and decorative plant gardening. If you are new to the desert or want to try gardening in the desert I highly recommend it.
