TAC Side Steps Running Boards Fit 2019-2024 RAM 1500 Crew Cab (Exclude 2019-2024 RAM 1500 Classic) Truck Pickup 3" Texture Black Side Bars Nerf Bars

I thought that this tube would be a 3 point bracket to suspend the running board, on the existing bolts under truck like I had seen on Youtub. But the TAC uses 4 cabin bolts which are at least 8" long. I had to heat one to remove it. It seams very solid but will check to make sure everything is still tight. The TAC brackets use existing 3 bolts on truck body plus the main body bolts so it feels very strong. What TAC doesn't use are the middle bracket which some tube running boards use and most of the flat running boards use. So instillation time was much longer considering the large body bolts which half to be taken out and put back. Where as the existing bolts just need the brackets and nuts to put on. But the TAC looks very clean without showing the brackets hanging down to the running boards like 3point brackets look. Oh and on my 2019 Ram Big Horn the bolts are metric, and lucky I had a metric tap and die set to clean the threads of paint so they can be used. I like it and would recommend them for anyone looking for a nice clean look and very affordable.

Great addition if you're looking for a low profile step. The two point attachment allows for minimal deflection with two people (300 pounds). The stainless steel (passes the magnet test) bar is highly polished. The painted brackets are tucked under the body. Chase the truck body studs with a 8mm by 1.25 die and you can ignore the one and two star reviews referring to installation difficulties. I used a 13/16" socket in lieu of the recommended 21 mm for the rear body bolt. Other sockets required are 13mm, 18mm, and 19mm. The factory body bolts are long bolts and should be torqued down. This item fits my 2021 Ram crew cab new body style despite a warning "This does not fit your:...". The bars are suitable for my size 14 feet despite not reaching beyond the width of the doors. They do reduce ground clearance by approximately 4".

Happy with these. Just finished installing on my 2020 Ram 1500 Crew cab. The install went well, the worst part was getting the body bolts loose. They are snug all the way out. The fronts were worse than the two on rear. I had to use a breaker bar to get them out and continue using it most of the way out on the fronts. I have an impact but the little 8lbs air compressor I have at home just didn't have the power needed for those front ones. It worked well everywhere else. The keys I saw were the lip on the vertical brace goes towards the tire on both front and rear, if you put it in the other way the brace wont fit quite right. The rest of it is pretty easy. The thread lock nuts are tight but that's how they were made so just get them started and a ratchet or impact will do fine. Keep everything a little loose until you get the steps mounted to.the brackets then tighten everything up. Last note, the box came with a side wrapped in clear bags and and the other in green. Helped to know just grab all the clear bags and put that side on and do the same with the green. Think I used 13mm (brackets to frame), 18mm (front body mount bolts), 19mm (bolts that go into actual step), and 21mm (rear body mount bolts) sockets, breaker bar, impact, and ratchet.

Just put these side steps on my 2020 Dodge Ram 1500 Crew Cab. The product was packaged sufficiently, all hardware was included, and easy to follow instructions were also included. The rails are really light, but once they were mounted on the truck they seemed to be really sturdy. Instructions recommend having assistance when you install them, but doing it alone wasn't too difficult. It took me a couple hours to install both sides, but if I had an air gun it would have went much quicker. I love these side steps, and I'm totally satisfied with this purchase.

As someone else mentioned. The nuts aren't the exact size. One nut sheared off the truck's bolt. Now one side has only 2. Both running boards are dented which i didn't see until installation. Of course in the middle! Clearly quality control is non evident. Curious how they will hold up to the salt in Ohio, but probably not good is the answer. Would not buy another product. Buy name brand and spend a little more.

I LOVE THE WAY THEY LOOK AND HOW STURDY, BUT PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR GO AND BUY A FROM LIKE 24 TO 11MM IMPACT 1/2" SOCKET SET. AND A 18" 1/2" BREAKER BAR!!! TO TAKE OUT THE 4 BODY BOLTS.... you have those items install becomes easy as pie!!! Also DO NOT tighten everything till bar is installed and tighten in this order.. Bar, 1/2" nuts side of truck then body bolts. You will love this step bar !!!!

Only had them on two months now but they look great and weren't terribly difficult to install. I'd recommend having a second pair of hands to hold the other end up when you're installing but you can use a cardboard box like I did in a pinch. Definitely worth the money. Sturdy and good looking. Put them on a 2020 Ram 1500 and needed a long breaker bar to remove the body bolt.

Updating my review, the side steps came with the wrong mounting plates originally, but TSS_USA was able to get this corrected and are sending the correct materials. So far the construction seems to be good. I do with it utilized a middle bracket as well.
