Sharpie Stains GONE!
I had never heard of this product. but I work at Trader Joe's, and carry a Sharpie and other permanent markers in my pants/shorts. More than once, I've come home to realize the cap had come off the marker, and stained my khakis. Black marker on khaki shorts is hard to disguise, and even harder to make disappear. So I did some research and saw that the New York Times' Wirecutter rated Amodex as the best solution for stains. I ordered it, but only after I had already treated the stains with a spray on stain remover and washed and dried them. This was not a smart move, since it set the stains more permanently.Upon receiving the Amodex, I noticed that the instructions emphasized "patience." I put a few drops on one of the stains, and rubbed it in with my fingers. At first I used my fingernails to scrape the stain, then used a toothbrush. I worked on the stain for maybe half an hour, and while it was definitely less noticeable, it was also definitely still there. The next day I tried again. Once in the morning, then again that night. I then hand washed the stained portion of the clothes in the bathroom sink, and today you would never know there had been a stain! The product works!Yes, some effort is required, as well as patience, (and maybe a dose of "faith,") but I have continued to follow this procedure with similar permanent marker stains, with the same success. It has removed stains that were there for weeks, and sometimes had gone through the wash several times. You should DEFINITELY try Amodex. Love it!

Not as hoped
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I had researched for a product that was designed to remove "sharpie" ink from fabric. This product was advertised as one that would do the job when nothing else would. It also claims to remove many other stains. It did not work at all, in my case. I will try it on other stains, in the future.

Gets black sharpie marker out of white clothes!
This product was an iffy for me. But I am sure glad I took the chance and ordered this product. I had inherited a bunch of clothing from my aunt who had her clothes identified by somebody writing with black sharpie where the tags usually are in the nursing home. They were excellent quality clothing and I knew somebody could use them. So I tried using my tide pen to get the stains out, and to no avail it just did not even budge in fact it's smeared the stains even worse. So after doing some research and I didn't want to touch the skirt that got the stains all over from the marker that I thought would get taken care of I looked online and found this product known as Amodex. I can't say enough good things about this product considering I had never even heard of the name before until I decided to review what gets black sharpie out of clothing. It took a little bit of scrubbing with a scrub brush and you want to use a little bit of paper towel as you're going through to soak up the stain as you use the product, but it came out within 10 minutes a whole name with at least 11 letters so think about that's about two and a half 3 in along where a tag would be. I've had it come out of all different colors of fabric White pink yellow and even blue it works with everything. In fact I think it works better than the tide pen and I am a tide pen lover. I have recommended this product to so many people especially to my friends who sell on Poshmark and mercari and need to get stains or get their clothing looking mint condition. I couldn't believe how easy, and how well it got the skirts and shirts looking brand new. After I use this product I did wash the clothing and then steamed it. I highly recommend amidex. I bought the 1 oz bottle but I wish I would have got a bigger bottle and I would probably order a bigger bottle if this is going to be your first time ordering. I hope that helps. I will update this as soon as I'm taking another stain out of product so that you guys can see the video but this is a good product.

Waited a year but it actually worked
Coming back almost a year later! So originally I said this is crap and doesn’t work when trying to remove purple sharpie off my coach purse that my daughter wrote her name on the front. I mean it was a long shot trying this out since it was a four year old sharpie stain. At first the remover did absolutely nothing no matter how hard I tried scrubbing, soaking, and following the directions to a T for a few days in a row. I threw the purse to the back of my closet and just yesterday(11 months later after trying to treat the stain) I went to grab it to get the wallet out and I kid you not I couldn’t see where the sharpie was at!! I had to look really close so If you look super close it’s there but not as pigmented anymore and I can wear my purse now. Even my husband couldn’t find the stain u til basically putting the purse up to his eye. So I guess it does work just not immediately.

1 experience great, another not so good
Small blood stain,I didn't think it would come out, but after the wash it was gone. Another stain on a white sweater is still there. Will try again.

$8 bottle of ink remover saved my designer bag
Lord have mercy. I use my Michael Kors backpack for work, and I definitely died a little inside when I got blue ink right up the front after just having purchased my bag a month ago. Tried magic eraser, Dawn soap, baking soda diy solution, and nothing even TOUCHED IT. Bought this stuff, tried it once and thought I just wasted my money. But someone in another review said they used this on a designer wallet or something, and it didn’t work right away and they were right! I have applied this about 5 times now on the stain over just a one week span and the stain in practically gone!!! Just see for yourself! I had to circle the newest picture of my bag because you can barely see it unless you know to look for it!

Not that effective
Didn't remove the stain completely, just a bit

Great stuff!
This stuff really works. The stain was a pinky finger nail size and after several applications the ink was totally gone. Be sure to change the absorbing material underneath with each application as that’s where most of the stain is released.
