Worked great, was as advertised

Great product, wiring difficult by design.
Excellent product, works fine. I will say that it took me a long time to get the wires inserted into the grooves, very tight and difficult. However, this is by design, the wires must stay in place in a moving RV. So even though it was difficult, l feel confident that my outlet will not have issues with loose wiring from a poor design.

Works great and will a little DIY it will last a long time
I made this purchase due to the corner mounting points breaking on the units we have on our Toy hauler (RV)We have a number of these and being full timer RV'er's things tend to get used a bit more then they were possibly designed for so the corners would break off where the mounting screws come through and the outlet comes loose and is not secured to the wall very well. Every time you unplug something you have to hold the outlet on the wall to keep from pulling the outlet and wires out of the wall.I wasn't too excited about purchasing more of these items only to have to replace them again because they are used so often.Due to the thin walls on the RV it's not really possible to replace with standard home outlets unless you redesign the mounting system to accommodate the thicker outlets. I came up with a pretty good fix.Along with the purchase of these fine Diamond Group WDR15IV's I purchased a couple of standard stainless steel Decorator Wall Plate with the same square shaped outlet hole. Removed the original plastic face plate from the WDR15IV, removed the mounting screws, placed the stainless steel wall plate on the front of the WDR15IV and drilled out the mounting holes from the back. Re-installed the mounting screws this time putting them through the front of the stainless steel wall plate and mounted the outlets on the wall. The stainless steel face plate helps to keep the outlet from flexing and breaking off the corners where the mounting screws are located and makes the whole unit stronger. I've had this in place for over 6 months now with no problems what so ever. The matching stainless steel covers can be found most anywhere.

Good replacement for RV outlets
I used this box to replace an outlet in my 1982 travel trailer. The new box fit perfectly in the opening from the original box. The interior of the box also seemed to be identical. In theory, you are supposed to be able to put your wires in the box and squeezing the back on the box will force the wires into the metal grooves that cut through the insulation and make contact with the wire. I ended up using a hammer and a punch to tap the wires into the grooves. Even after hammering the wires in, I still had to wrap the box in a towel to protect the finish and use some large channel lock pliers to get the back of the box to clip in place.

Easy installation method
Better design than OEM. This is my second round with this type of receptacle and here is my trick to stab the wires. Take a wooden clothespin and break one leg in 2 pieces. Lay each wire in place one at a time and place one piece of clothespin on the outlet face opposite the wire location. Take other piece and turn sideways so that it lays on top of wire and extends above side of outlet wire compartment. Take a pair of Chanel Lock pliers and squeeze forcefully. This will force the wire into the slots without damaging the front of the outlet. Then take a pair of needle nose pliers and push the wires to the bottom of the slots. If you have to set extending wires, they will go in much easier than the first set. When putting the back of the case together, use two small pieces of wood the same length as the back case (1"X2" is perfect) . Place one on the back and one on the front. Take a C Clamp or any other tool to squeeze the back cover down. Be careful to make sure that the outside edges are lined up or you'll break the tabs. This a lot cheaper than some expensive tool.

Broke in installation
The release tab on one side of the backing retainer broke when I released it. Not a cold day, it just was too flimsy to survive. I had to improvise to make the device acceptable. Will not buy this one again.

Good For Older RV's
These aren't being placed in the newer models, but my 10 year old travel trailer uses these and they worked great.
