Great little toy.
So it's a toy that's really fun but you can pull down dead limbs and trees and it was surprisingly easy to pick things up from down holes! I dropped my sunglasses down a cement block wall and grabbed them first try with this. The bad: the o ring can be easily lost and doesn't always hold on but you get a few.The U part the rope ties to and the screw that holds it on are its weakness. They are kinda flimsy and if they break the thing could fall apart. In conclusion it could be improved but it's fun and functional and cheap so get one you know you want a grappling hook

Fun tool for kids fishing for things
Called a grappling hook but could not hold the weight of a man ,or a child for that matter But fishing for small stuff, it will pick up just about what ever will fit within the jaws. also the additional hook really serves no purpose that I could figure. I do like the sturdyness of the item, 1/8"SS stock, positive joints, Cant tell but appear to be SS bolts, with lock nuts, nice free movement of the compound hinge,Over all I like the Item

Very handy
I picked this up for no apparent reason other than the adage "it's better to have one and not need it than need one and not have it". I work in construction and everyone will occasionally drop small things into cavities normally unreachable, trenches, formwork, stud cavities, demo,... I have picked up objects like pencils, markers, safety glasses, pliers, small shims,.. with this little gem no problem. Much easier than a bent piece of tie wire or even a magnet that gets stuck to rebar up and down the journey. Haven't used it as a grapple yet but refer to the adage... I noticed the other day the bolt and nut at the top of the pc unscrewed and must be laying in the bottom of my tool bag somewhere. A drop of locktite might be a good idea when I find it. I needed it quickly so I just tied a pc of tiewire in the moment and it worked just fine still, fyi.

It's warmth is it's greatest quality..
No kidding, that and it's sheerness..hand on a stack of Highlight's magazines. This grappling hook is as sheer as they come, more sheer than any other grappling hook you will find on the market and that is saying something because try googling that and see what you come up with! And did I mention it's thickness!? Holy cannoli's Batman, this thing is so thick you could drive over it with a tank and not get a scratch. Let's face it, in practicality this thing is just tops, there isn't anything it can't do..gets cats down from trees, uhm....looks cool on a belt for a night on the town. Well I thought so...but I'm married and have no one to impress so you single guys/gals may want to think about that one.

Versatile little tool
I bought this for my son as he likes stuff like this and has been collecting stuff for his survival gear. He says it's fun to pick up random things with like a human claw machine. It's been holding his backpack to hid bed really well with no bending or anything but he wouldn't use it to climb because it's a little small. Overall he thinks this is a really cool little tool.

Did not come with all the parts
I got the grapple but no rubber bands. That makes me upset that things didn’t go as planned but I set my expectations low when dealing with sellers on here and I enjoy the items I did receive. I’m too lazy to fight someone for rubber bands but I figured the seller already knew that.

It's a great "BAT HOOK"
I bought one of these for myself for camping and caving, I purchased a second one for my buddy that camps and caves also. The "BAT HOOK" as we call them are great for almost everything, they are small but very easy to use. We hang different flags around our camp and these work perfect for getting the ropes up into the trees.

Works as it is supposed to work
Reviews of this same type of product from other sellers said that it did not work properly. Gravity hook feature was stuck. The grab feature that causes the claw to open when it is lowered on an object DOES OPEN with this gravity hook! Well made, doesn't feel cheap!
