More than a cookbook....
Being lucky enough to have dined at the table of Angie and even luckier to have taste tested some of the recipes in this book, I knew I had to own it! My guess is the kitchen is one of Angie's favorite places because she certainly comes up with some amazing recipes there. I am not AIP, but I am gluten sensitive and decided about a year ago to get rid of it for good. I feel lucky that I can eat most other foods, but I am also pretty educated about what I should eat VS. what I can eat. This book is full of some delicious recipes that are all foods that we should be eating, no matter your dietary restrictions (or lack of). I also can't say how amazing Angie is herself. She has gone down a long, hard road in her life and she has made the best of it by using her experiences to guide others on how to transform their health issues - mostly by eating the right stuff (and it's in this book)!! I am hoping she comes out with another cookbook soon because there are a few things she has made that I'd like to have the recipes for :)

Such a Valuable Book to Have!
The Alternative Autoimmune Cookbook by Angie Alt is just lovely! Its actually Way more than a cookbook – so much so that I’d say its value is at least half outside the cookbook part – which is also fantastic! She goes over what AIP is – how to re-introduce – And I love her Food Reaction Checklist on page 26. There is a Food Journal, and all sorts of emotional support, including a page dedicated to loving your rear end! You are just going to have to read it yourself, but Angie is a Health Coach and knows all about these things. This book will help you figure out the diet, but even more so – the emotional part of making choices to love and respect your body. The book has 186 pages, has 24 Meaty Recipes, 22 Sides and Soup Recipes, and has 12 Desserts and Drinks Recipes. I would purchase this book for the recipes. I would also purchase this book for the guidance and emotional support. But all of it together is just a steal!

My favorite
I have quite a lot of AIP cookbooks and this is my personal favorite. Even though it isn't an especially large cookbook, it seems I use the recipes in it more often than any other. They contain my go-to favorites. The pictures are beautiful and full page, the recipes are delicious and varied. My family typically shies away from AIP recipes but there are some from here that they love and look forward to. There is a delicious Thai recipe, and an African soup recipe that is irresistible. They are well laid out and easy to prepare with ingredients that not exotic. Each recipe is prefaced with it's "story" and makes you want to dig in all the more. Angie Alt includes her personal story in the book and it offers encouragement and understanding to those with autoimmune disease. Love this one

ALTERNATIVE AUTOIMUNE COOKBOOK
I first saw a picture of this cookbook on Facebook with many favorable comments. As I saw a few more postings and people sharing important information about this book. I decided to order it.I received my book about two weeks ago; to my surprise I found the health articles very interesting shedding light on the Autoimmune Protocol (AIP ) diseases that we hear about; yet know nothing about them. This isn't just "another cookbook". It's the story of the author Angie Alt, sharing her story and personal experience through some difficult times, spending years of going to doctors trying to find the cause of her health issues. Once learned, she went to work to find the right foods and nourishment for this disease; to reclaim her life. This cookbook is put together very well. Personal articles, how to guides on food elimination, reintroduction phase and food journals. Awesome pictures of many familiar recipes that look absolutely delicious and easy to prepare. I definitely recommend this cookbook; You will not be disappointed.

A really great cookbook ... for everyone!
We realize that this cookbook was intended for a targeted audience but we decided to purchase it because it looked like .... just a really good cookbook. And, that has now proven to be the case. Try any recipe that catches your eye (that will be almost all of them) and have fun with it. Since we do not have an Autoimmune decease and don't really eat Paleo, we have just had a great time making these recipes our own.We do, however, have several friends and family members that suffer with Celiac's. Since we have been so impressed with the recipes we have purchased four additional books for them.Sure, the recipes are really good but, trust me, you will thoroughly enjoy the photography, the unique ingredients and most of all the little personal notes that accompany each recipe! To paraphrase a popular commercial .... "Buy it, you'll like it".

Keeping it real, as usual
A beautiful, helpful, thought-provoking book by a true AIP warrior! This book offers not only delicious-yet-realistic recipes with gorgeous pictures to inspire your meal plan, but also true stories from the field for making the changes that are needed to heal, reflect, and embark on the next adventures in life.I've been eating Angie's food for 20 years, and while her cooking has always been delicious and hearty, it's now sophisticated with ease an approachability. The recipes shared here are keepers. Even more, I've been listening to Angie's stories and witnessed her evolution as a writer. She's incredibly open about the challenges, grief, awakenings, and forward motion that are components of making changes in REAL LIFE. Angie Alt is, first and foremost, no B.S., and her book demystifies AIP/Paleo without sacrificing the ephemeral nature of being a human being.Bravo, B.F.A!

Excelente para AIP
Recomiendo el libro 100% todo su contenido es totalmente AIP. Recetas, consejos, protocolo, esperemos que también saquen la versión en Español como su otro libro de Mickey " La cocina autoinmunes" totalmente recomendable

Not good for Graves Disease sufferers.
A little misleading as I thought it ideal for my specific auto immune disorder; alas it doesn't help me.

Love it! However it fell apart on me. Maybe I shouldn't have been reading it in the sauna. Hope for healing.
