Works Great
I've been in the reef aquarium hobby for around 6 years now. I purchased 3 of these in case I ended up breaking one. Not as fragile as some have suggested but it's glass so be careful. Works just fine...just be sure to calibrate it with a something of a known specific gravity to ensure you are measuring apples to apples. I'd buy again for the price.

Cheap
Arrived shattered so I had to take a trip Petco anyway to exchange it, wasted $6 on shipping. With my new one, the hydrometer works but the element for the thermometer has separated and is inaccurate.

Pitty it can break
Mine fall down and it broke. Is precise and much better than hydrometers. Just read it in not moving water and under the water brake line.

Best I’ve Used
The media could not be loaded. One of these was passed down to me by the guy who gave me the reef tank many years ago. I’ve been using this ever since. I’ve tried a couple of other types, but none of them work as well as this. I’ve only ever had one break when someone was careless with it and dropped it on a hard surface (it IS glass). I’ve always replaced them with the same one.I highly recommend! I keep one in the tank at all times and keep one for checking my water exchanges.

Hydrometer doesn't work.
Hydrometer doesn't work. Bought this thinking that it would work, the paper inside is also reversed and the internal valve that shows the temperature works, but nothing for the salinity. Maybe? I'm reading it wrong perhaps.

Thermometer is VERY accurate, NOT a good hydrometer.
First time I ordered this, it arrived broken (and not like a crack or two, it was completely shattered). I returned it to a Petco nearby and they replaced it no problem. This reads salinity by bobbing above the water and a paper slip inside reads the measurement. The paper slip is not secured in any way. Due to shipping to store or handling, the paper WILL not stay in place and ends up slipping (and is no longer accurate). You still might be able to use it if you calibrate it with a more accurate hydrometer (maybe borrow someone's?) and then next time you measure your water, you take the error into account. Therefore, I would NOT recommend this for measuring your salinity. Too much room for error. If you want to use this as a thermometer, it is VERY accurate. I've used it for that purpose for almost two years. (I dropped it the other day and it broke. Ordering another because of how cheap, yet accurate it was for temp.)
