Dickies Men's Donatello Short-Sleeve Classic Chef Coat

For the price, this is a great, plain chef coat that can handle some abuse. The material is lighter, not so cloth-like and heavy that some coats are, so it keeps you a little cooler. Since it's a thinner material, wearing a black shirt beneath the coat would be noticeable. It washes well and with some bleach, stains are easy to remove.Caution though - all the sizes run a little large. Luckily before I ordered this size I was able to try on a medium sized coat (same brand and style, just long sleeved) which is the size I normally wear, but I was swimming in the medium. I purchased a small and they fit like a medium. I'm not sure how much the coat shrinks since I air dry my coats, but I would order a size up.Overall though, a great, plain chef coat. I would highly recommend trying it.

Seems to be made well. Fits nicely. Normally wear it under an apron, but it still has an accessible pocket. Easy to button. And, much cooler than the long sleeve.

Good, Dickies quality stitching that I expected, however, the buttons weren't sewn on very well. I just went over them with a needle and thread, and now I see these coats lasting a while. The material is breathable and lightweight, but not as stain resistant as I had hoped. The fit is spot on, buy this infor whatever this size Dickies shirt you wouldto typically wear. All in all, a great price for good coats. I will be buying more soon.

I've been a professional cook for twenty years, and have purchased uniforms from many different sources throughout that time. Some have been moderately priced, and durable, others more expensive, and less durable. I have never been more impressed by a chef coat than I have with the Dickie Donatello Short Sleeve Classic. They are very comfortable, and the quality is top shelf! Where have you been?! I will definitely buy more of these!

Short Version: Nice material, nice look, nice fit, buttons fall off VERY easily.Full Version: On first impression, I really liked the shirt. I noticed out of the package it looked like it had some loose threads, but I figured they were just stray pieces that would come off in the wash, which they did... but so did about half of the buttons, and the other half were all very loose. While the buttons didn't actually fall off in the machine, I went to pick the stray thread pieces off the shirt, and they weren't strays but pulled out of the buttons, causing them to fall off. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this item for that reason, unless you enjoy stitching 10 buttons back on. If button sewing doesn't bother you, then read on, because otherwise, the shirt is actually pretty nice!The fabric has a soft touch and a nice medium weight that feels "heavy duty" without seeming like it will be too hot. The fit is pretty spot on - not baggy, but not too restrictively tight. I was originally debating between going with Large or XL. The size chart shows Large as Chest 42-44/Neck 16-16.5 which was just a little bigger in the chest than my dress shirts, so fits exactly how I expected. I could probably have gone with the XL and not been disappointed if I wanted it a little baggier, but it would've been noticeably too big, I think. Other than the issue with the buttons being sewn on rather poorly, the construction of the garment seems alright, it doesn't appear other seams are faulty, just the buttons. So (after a frustrating evening finding out my sewing machine is not working), I wound up hand stitching all the buttons on with upholstery thread so those suckers shouldn't be going anywhere this time, and I am excited to show off my new coat at work tomorrow, despite the fact that I can't really be considered a chef, since all I do is fry chicken.

This chef coat is a great, durable, and a well priced product. Exactly what I expected from the Dickies name! The fit is a little large, however I have a terribly long and thin frame, which doesnt really allow for a proper fit with most products. Wore the coat once to try it out, then dropped it off for embroidery!

I am 5'7 and I weigh 135 so I bought a small and it fits perfectly. Buy one size down if you like more form fitting shirts, but I have no problem with the small. The quality is what I was most worried about after reading reviews of this item, however when I received my package I was happy to find that my items were not at all see through, we're of breathable fabric, and the bottons did not fall off, even with an aggressive tug.

I normally wear a size large, but after reading these coats run big, I opted for a small. And it's still a little too big on me. The sleeves are extremely baggy to the point I feel like a samuri. If you're a big guy with thick arms it might not be a problem. But skinny guys beware. On the plus side, the material feels good quality and very durable.

I purchased this with the belief I was ordering a Dickies jacket but I was a bit disappointed when a Chef Code jacket came in.I kinda felt a bit duped as a consumer. I notified Amazon and we came to an acceptable agreement on the incorrect order. The customer service was very diligent and professional with this issue. The jacket has a good fit and seems to be of good construction , it will have to wait to see if it will stand the test of time. I want to see how long the color will last before it starts to fade and the stitching to start to fray. I am willing to give this product a try but, prefer the item in the description as it is what I am paying for.

Fits well, took a few washes to get the stiffness out of it though

Was suppose to be dickie's brand,ended up being chef code product still good but not exactly as I was expecting.
