A specially modified draft doorsweep to block sound from coming under the door bottom. Our soundproofing seal is a metal strip and rubber loop, with sealed ends for added performance in creating a dead air space within the loop. You will also receive the screws to mount it to your door. Depending on if it's metal, you'll need to drill pilot holes, if wood you won't. Usually, only a screwdriver and a few minutes is needed to install this very much needed attachment to block sound from coming from underneath your door. Some more notes about our Soundproofing Door Sweep: (The part that should seal the door bottom against sound and that fits on the edge of the bottom of the door). Since our doorsweep only seals up to a 3/4" gap, it will only be partially effective if more than a 1/4" gap is left. In that case, a transom seal should be used from the hardware store that fits on the floor across the bottom of the doorway. Use this kind if you have a huge gap. Try to get one with a rubber flap. (Mechanical ones are expensive and will eventually fail). A wood strip can also be used to extend the bottom of such "Cut Short" doors. We show you how to do it: (See illustration)

Excellent at reducing noise, draft, and leaving no gap
I was very happy with this item. I live in pre-war apartment building and the hallway can be noisy and drafty (there is no heating or air conditioning in public areas). I also wanted to be vigilant about offering NO space for a critter to crawl in the front door. I was unhappy with the door sweeps available at hardware stores — they still left a gap — and the noise problem was making me consider buying a new door... except that whoops, I live in an apartment building and I'm not allowed to just put my own front door up. The more I learned about noise penetration the more I realized that I could control some of this with the right door seal product. I started researching soundproofing and after looking around I'm pretty sure that this is the best item of its type available online. The noise was reduced more than I could have imagined a piece of rubber could do, and it's a tight seal... I can't even push a piece of paper underneath. It's an excellent choice and to me it was worth the price. One note: the item is not meant to be cut to size... there is a filling on the edges but the middle is hollow, and if you cut it you will ruin the product and entirely defeat the purpose of how it works. Do not order expecting to cut it down; measure exactly and buy the exact size needed.

Must Have for private practice
I purchased these for sound cancellation from hallway into psychotherapist offices. They work like a dream! Even purchased the sound proofing tape, but might not need it because these are so effective in reducing sound transfer. Initially ordered wrong size; it was simple to return and get correct size. Installation was simple, took less than 30 min to install 3; instructions clear and easy. This company ships super fast considering I'm on the east coast and product comes from California. Can't beat the price either- other options I considered were at least twice as much. Great product.

Reduces light and sound, left a mark on carpet
My floor has carpet that sits a quarter inch above the hardwood where the seal needed to be made. I was able to get the flap to sweep down enough to cover the gap and I do sleep better with less sound and light intrusion. The mark it leaves is annoying, but, for me worth it. If you don't have a threshold that sits below your carpet, it probably won't do this.

I guess it's great if your floor is perfectly level
I guess it's great if your floor is perfectly level. Not so great otherwise (my case). The rubber is pretty firm and maintains its shape. As my floor is not perfectly flat in the door swing area (due to the difference in the hardwood planks and I guess some subfloor unevenness), I was left with two equally bad options:a) mount it for the highest floor point, leaving a gap under the door when it's closed (but enjoy a smooth swing);b) mount it so there is no gap when the door is closed, but scrape the floor with the rubber when opening the door (making the door stuck).Overall disappointing. I'll be looking for another swing that can compress and maintain the gap.

Good, but Could Be Slightly Improved
The ends bend out a little, which could be avoided by putting fastener holes closer to the ends. Overall, however, it works well for what it is. If the vendor reads this, consider putting those outer fastener holes less than an inch from the ends. That would turn this into a five-star product for sure!

Porly designed.
Doesn’t lay flush with the door because the holes for the screws do not go all they way to the end. They stop 3/4 of the way to the end on one side and go to the end on the other. The strip began pulling away after a day of use.

Very helpful..... it appears most ...
Very helpful .....it appears most of the sound leaks through the doors , using these and tape along the door openings really cuts the sound transmission

Great product. Will definitely buy again.
This works wonderfully. It blocks sound and any drafts. Make sure you get it cut properly to fit the door length. I am using this in my NYC apartment and it's been amazing.
