Functional, But Could Be Improved.
Bottom line, you can open and close your garage door through the wireless connection. It does that as advertised and works with Google Home. Here's why its not five star:-- The ceiling in my garage has a beam to support the second floor and the motor for my garage door is on the other side of that beam. The wires for the open/closed sensor aren't long enough to route with any slack, so I had to put a slight bit of tension on it. I don't think it will be a problem, but this isn't the most solid construction, so we'll see. Every house in my subdivision is built this way, so I don't think my problem is too unique. Three or four feet of length to the wires would have solved this.-- The app is another reason I'm giving it three stars. As others have noted, you can't say "Open" or "Close" the door. You have to say "Turn it on/off." That's the reason I bought the thing, to work with Google Home. It's a simple correction and they should have done it. Some reviewers have noted that somehow, after a while (and I don't know why) they can operate it with "Open/Close". I put this in 10 days ago and I still have to say "On/Off"The second problem with the app -- and also a big reason I bought the kit -- is notifications to my phone when the door is operated. It does give them. The problem is, they all say "Door is opened" even when it is closed. So you know it's been operated, you just don't know the status for sure. Yes, if you just opened it, you know that when you close it, it although it says opened, you know its closed, but you don't always get the notifications. Case in point, I got a notification that it had been opened when actually my wife had just left the house and it was closed. I didn't get the actual opened notification, so as far as I knew from the notifications, it was open. Now, you can open the app and if you've installed everything correctly, it will tell you the actual status, so there is a relatively easy workaround. But the bottom line is, if it is going to send notifications, they should be accurate.Because of the above, I am giving it three stars because of value for your money. $39.99 isn't outrageous, but it isn't cheap. You can buy the Chamberlain MYQ-G0201 wireless hub for $47.00. It's a much easier installation (I've reviewed the instructions) and doesn't have the issues with the app that I've talked about. If this kit had cost $10 - $15 less, some of these problems would be overlooked. $39.99 isn't unfair, but its not a bargain IMHO.

Not happy!
Pro: Yes! The setup was easy and painless. Con: When you click the button, the relay keys momentarily, then the "Door Opened" notification pops up. This is not from the sensor. That "Door Opened" pop up notification occurs when the sensor pieces separate due the the garage door actually opening. You will get two "Door Opened" pop up notifications when the garage door opens. Now, for the sad news, there is NO pop up notifications when the garage door closes. The phone screen button changes colors to indicate status change and the word open changes to closed. With Alexa, it's "plug on" or "plug off". I was hoping to use the sensor status, like I can with a WiFi door/window module, to activated other modules. I am waiting to hear back from the seller. Meanwhile, I'll be looking at this with a different approach.

Very handy device and easy to install.
Almost everything you need is in the box. The only exception is a 5V power cube (with at least 0.5A output). I’m sure almost all of us have 1 or more of these in an old junk drawer, so there’s noting else to buy. The kit includes 3M double sided tape squares for strong and easy mounting of the device and the sensor, as well as hardware to secure the wiring.I had no difficulty in securely connecting to my home WiFi network using either the TuyaSmart OR SmartLife Apps (they look almost identical). Both of these Apps have very good customer reviews and control a wide range of smart devices. The compatibility with the Apps is one of the things that went into purchasing this particular device. Some of the others I looked at used EWeLink App that does not seem to be as preferred of an App.Another thing that influenced my decision is the inclusion of the sensor switch and cable that lets you know wether or not the door is open or closed. How many times have you driven away from home and thought “did I close the garage door?” Well with the sensor switch and the App you can tell you if it is open or closed. The App also keeps track of the times the door was opened or closed with alerts, if so desired. Finally the last thing that makes a device like this a great addition to your smart home is the ability to use Amazon Echo or Google Home to operate you garage door! The only negative thing I have to say, and it is minor, in my opinion, is that instead of saying “open the garage door” or “close the garage door”. You need to say “turn on the garage door” or “turn off the garage door”. It’s minor, and hopefully in future App updates it can be changed to open and close. In the two screenshots included you can see in the first one it says Already On, that means your garage door is open. In the second screenshot it says Turned Off, meaning the door is closed. So with just a click glance at your phone you can know that you did close the door, and if you forgot, with just a tap of you finger you can close it, from anywhere you have cell service. No more calling the neighbor and asking them to check and see if the garage door is closed! The final screenshot is of the log that is maintained in the App of the opening and closing of the door. I know this is long, but I had a lot of good things to say about this great product.Just found out that if you have a Google device (we are an Echo home, with a stray Google mini hanging out), you can say “Hey Google Open the garage door.” Or whatever you’ve named it. It will activate the switch and the door will open and Google replies with “Turning on Garage Door” and the Closing routine is the same. Hopefully Amazon can make this work as well!!

Easy to use and install, poor quality and huge vulnerability
The product itself was not difficult to set up and use. Though my issue is the quality of the product as wires are thin and bend easily around the connector that it could potentially severe a connection. USB cord is flimsy and breaks, and the power adapter runs hot. Also a HUGE security flaw found when resetting the circuit breaker was a false trigger being sent to the unit when repowered, causing the garage door to open without my control. This needs to be addressed and would caution those who buy this to hook the unit up to a backup battery to avoid loss of power. Good potential, poor quality and vulnerability.

Great inexpensive smart control garage door opener
I was looking for an inexpensive garage door Controller, and this is it!!! Super easy to install, and it works 10/10. I still haven't figured out how to monitor whether its shut or open but that will come with some research. Great solution for $45. I hate overpaying for tech that doesn't need to be expensive. Bottom line, it works. As long as you've got some DIY skills, the install is easy.
