Reusable Shopping Bags Stay Open Premium Wipe Clean Laminated Totes XL

I have tried other, more compact bags which roll up and fit easily in a purse, but I was finding that the grocery store staff didn't know how to bag well with my existing floppy thin bags and some of my groceries were getting squished. I had very specific requirements for my new bags. (1) They needed to fold flat to store easily in my car--->These fold flat very easily, but they don't bend in half well. For me it is not a big deal because they fit perfectly in my car trunk organizer standing up, but you should be aware of it if you cannot store them at full height. (2) They had to be able to stand open on their own when open-->These quickly and easily stand up on their own when opened. They come with an extra support piece for the bottom, but they stand up well without it too and the grocery store bagger easily managed to use them without the extra piece inserted. I plan to just leave the extra inserts at home as they seem like they will just get in the way. (3) They had to be able to withstand extra heavy items. ---> Since they are a nice large size and I buy a lot of heavy cans and such I wanted them to hold up well to the extra weight. The handle material is a thick woven cloth which extends down the sides and under the bag as well. Very well designed to support a lot of heavy items. The plastic of the bag itself is pretty thick and would be very difficult to rip or tear.On my very first grocery store check out using these bags the grocery store bagger commented on how great they were and how easy they were to use. None of my items were crushed, bruised or broken so I consider them a success! In addition, it was supper easy to bring everything in from the car since each bag held so much I could bring them inside in just one trip.I am very pleased with my purchase. Highly recommended!

I've only had these for about a week and have only used them on two shopping trips, so I really can't comment on use over time. These are definitely pretty bags and they can hold quite a bit. They are a good size. They are fairly easy to fold flat and store. They are a bit of a pain to keep open at times, as they always seem to want to close, but they do stand up on their own, which is nice. I haven't had any problems with ripping or holes yet, but I do see how that could happen. The quality of these bags is just okay, not what I was expecting for the price.Update 3/14/17- I'm updating my review to 5 stars because I've used these bags quite a bit now. They've done an excellent job. Whenever we go to the checkout line my husband always says that all of the items won't fit in the bag, but they always do. Sometimes the bag is a bit too heavy for me to carry because we can load so much stuff into it. I use these at least 3 times a week. I've filled them to capacity. Sometimes I'm worried that they will break but so far they have held strong. I just got back from Walgreens and easily fit 4 boxes of cereal, 4 boxes of tissues, and 1 big bottle of mouthwash in the bag. I love that they fold flat and it's super quick and easy to fold and unfold them. Cashiers comment on them practically every time I use them. They appreciate that the bags stay open and upright. It makes loading them up so quick and easy. They stay open easier now than when I first bought them. Yes, the bags are a bit pricey and more than I would normally pay but they are worth it. If they broke tomorrow I would be disappointed, but I would know that I had gotten my money out of them.

These are attractive, strong, and practical shopping bags and I have been using them daily without any problems except an initial one. The bags arrived in good condition but emitted a strong chemical odor probably due to the plastic-like coating. I placed them outside under the patio roof for a couple of days, and the odor dissipated. I also believe that these bags are a bit expensive at $16.95.Update 7/22/15: These bags are surprisingly strong! I have loaded them up to the brim with very heavy groceries and they remained intact, same shape, and beautiful. I often am given complements on these bags by the Grocers. They are worth the higher price and I highly recommend them. Just remember to air them out initially, as I did, if they are emitting that chemical odor that they may come with.Update 7/25/15: One of the bags developed a small hole on the bottom. I recommend cutting a piece of cardboard that will fit on the bottom of these bags to reinforce the bottom which might crack. I have removed another star from this item because of this problem, but I stillrecommend these bags, because they keep their shape, are easy to fill, and have strong straps.Update 6/10/16: I bought another pair in the deep blue color and they are very attractive, strong, and functional. Again, they retain their shape, and so are easy to fill with groceries (unlike other bags of floppy materials) that you will be thanked by the grocery store clerks. Because of their plastic-like, hydrophobic material, they can even be periodically cleaned with a damp cloth. I believe that these are the best on the market.Update 6/25/17: Bought two more of the grey bags, BUT both bags had large holes in the side seams which had not been properly sewn. Returned these and removed two stars of the original five. Then bought "Tosnail Pack of 4 Gray Extra Large Collapsible Nonwoven Shopping Box Set" on Amazon, and they are cheaper and comparable.
