THIS BAND WILL SAVE LIVES
I wanted to buy this product for a loved one and just like you I decided to read the reviews first, I'm glad I ignored them! After reading all the negative comments I decided I would buy one and trial it myself for a couple of days first.Firstly it wasn't that difficult to setup as some suggest, if your struggling to set it up ask someone young, they will find it easy, alternatively go to your local Vodafone shop, I'm sure they will assist you.I wore the band for about 48hours, never taking it off, in that time I had 2 showers, slept for about 14 hours, was at work for 20hours (active job using my hands all day) and not once did it send me any false alerts.During the time I was wearing it I imitated a fall 3 times (banged my fist on the floor firmly but made sure the band didn't hit the floor because it probably wouldn't during a real fall) every time it sent out the SOS alert, I also pressed the SOS button a few times again it worked every time.Another big complaint is the notifcations, ok I admit the audio notification is not the best and needs improving but it also has a light notification which turns on your torch and strobes (you can alter the intensity in the app settings). like a lot of people these days I have a smart watch as well and it works perfect with the SOS app, you just have to turn it on in your watch notification settings. Some reviews say you have to actually open the SOS app to see if help is needed, this is nonsence, whoever is writing such comments needs to check their phone notification settings and make sure they are turned on for the app. When you look at your notifications any SOS ones are highlighted in red and stand out amongst your Facebook requests and candy crush lives, honestly you can't miss them. After taking the band off I thought I would recharge it before gifting it, to my surprise an hour later I received a notification (just a normal 1 not all flashing and going mad) telling me that the band was not been used so you will know if they take it off for too long, this can be changed in settings to flash and go red if you wish.At the end of the day if you have 5 people receiving notifications it won't be long until one of them picks up their phone and sees an alert alternatively how long could your loved one be alone on the bathroom floor waiting for someone to visit and find them laid there, could quite possibly be more than a day, so in my opinion definitely worth buying!I2 things I think need to be improvedFirstly the audio notification could be betterSecondly is the strap, it's quite stiff and only has 1 size available and you Cannot replace it for a different one.All in all this will save lives and is so simple to use its definitely worth buying if your worried about a loved one's safety.

Does not live up to expectations. Does not work indoors. Has many floors
This is very poor, does not work on wifi. But does over mobile networks and not having wifi is a fail in an old house with thick walls. Will be sending it back. As i write this i have triggered the bands sos feature and have been waiting 5 minutes for it to even trigger my phone. And on the app front it is poor. It needs a better alert. Needs to be louder and repeating.

Could be better
Working as expected but a little too basic for what it costs a month.

Best solution I could find for my elderly mum... and easy to use!
Having read some of the reviews, I was worried about this device... but it turns out that those concerns were completely unfounded. So much so that I felt compelled to leave a positive review. We considered local community alarms and alarm pendants that work via Bluetooth for my elderly mother... but all restricted the wearer to the house or the proximity of their smart phone. In our case my mum goes out and about and doesn’t use a mobile (she struggles with the TV remote let alone a phone!).On the basis that we have great mobile network coverage in our area, this Vodafone product was a no brainer. And whilst I have no doubt that there will be occasions where she’ll be in no signal areas, those occasions will be few and far between compared to the restrictions of other options previously mentioned. And we’re not talking a full signal to make a voice call... this is purely data like a pager! As for the device itself, it came with virtually a full charge, and the necessary “administrator” account was easily set up online. We then configured who the system would notify of an alert via mobile phone... my father, myself and my son (you can however have four). You need to download the app onto those mobile phones/tablets... but “invite” instructions sent to each person on how to do so are easy to follow. Our first test alert was a bit clunky, but we quickly realised that there was a firmware upgrade available for the band via the app. We simply put it on the charger, and followed the instructions from the app... within a minute the band was updated via Bluetooth and the alert was working like a charm. It’s also reassuring that the band uses a red, amber green symbol notification system on the display. The user is able to clearly see having pressed the alert button continuously for three seconds that an alert is being sent (red), that an alert has been sent (amber), and that help is on the way (green). In that sense, it’s simple for elderly people that don’t do tech to use.For the alertees, you’re able to see where the person is, the type of alert and indicate that you are responding, so that the other alertees don’t all respond too, and subsequently the band itself then shows the user that help is on the way via the green symbol previously mentioned and updates the alarm message accordingly to the alertees. The fall detection alert is great too... if it senses a fall and no movement for 25 seconds then it alerts automatically.Great that it’s waterproof, better still that the battery lasts a month and charges extremely quickly. And at £4 a month for the service it’s amazing value too. Only downside is that the device is quite large on the wrist, but that’s a small price to pay for the safety net/functionality that it provides. Please don’t be put off.

Didn't work for me
No problem with seller item arrived quick and secure. Did not get a signal in the room it was to be used in mainly. This I can understand even though I can get Vodafone 3G mobile signal in the same room but it doesn't even warn the user or monitor - just says 'all's good' which is not what you need if there was an emergency! As most reviews say there is nothing much to it, doesn't even tell the time.. difficult to set up but mainly because they changed the name of the app. I am sure Vodafone could do better than this. Item was refunded and Vodafone refunded the £4 subscription. May suit some people but the lack of warning of no signal for me is a deal breaker for an emergency device.

Disappointing
Has potential to be good but let down entirely by alert via notifications. Useless as a result. Would not wake family member at night and single alert would be drowned out by most daily activities. Pity.
