Quellance Fixed the Problem!
The text below describes the problem. I don't know what the issue was with the first knife - it may have been a manufacturing defect. At any rate, once I contacted Quellance (through the Amazon site) they were great in response, replaced the order promptly and the replacement cuts like it's supposed to - a nice product. Thank you Quellance!I have used numerous ceramic knives - this one is either a blank or the product itself is so dull that it won't cut squat - it's about as dull as a stage knife; won't cut into a lime or just about anything else. I contacted the seller 3 days ago, have heard no response. I would not buy this knife if it's an example of their standard product.UPDATE: After a search for a way to contact the seller, I finally worked my way through the Amazon system and made contact with the seller, who turned out to be great help, once they understood the issue, ordered a replacement knife to arrive in mid-September (today is the 8th). I will post on the replacement quality and see if the rating moves up.

Sharp!
Only used once so far, but seems very sharp! Time will tell. May give it a 5 after more use.

Same old junk
Ceramic knives are very, very sharp, but most of them have two flaws, and this one is no exception. One flaw is that they are brittle and can chip. Try cutting through a bone and twist the knife a little and see what happens. The other flaw is that the handles have very little material at the top font edge. So when you press down hard, the knife handle breaks. Look at this knife, the handle, on top, right where it meets the ceramic blade. See, not all that strong. first two photos are of this knife, third photo is another brand, all the same fault. I think it is a conspiracy.
