Best bait station EVER!
I just put these outside, but wanted to review at how AWESOME this bait station is. I've looked at dozens of varieties in both box stores and online. None can compare to the cost and quality of this station. You get TWO for $25 which is an amazing deal.I'm the last person who wanted to have to buy these, but after getting some visitors in our garage this winter, I said enough was enough. I'm sure, or at least hope, we don't have a big vermin problem, but do live near a wooded area and open field so figure we must get the occasional field mouse to come looking for food -- especially when it gets THIS cold.So I wanted to put out a couple alternative options that may help alleviate future problems. I'm using the Tomcat Bait Chunx Pail 4 LB in these stations as a point of reference. The station was simple to open but secure when locked in. Two metal poles are provided that you can use for bait chunx and plenty of keys! The station is quite large and comes with a clear top so you don't have to open it to see if the bait is being consumed.Very pleased with this purchase.

Sturdy construction and LARGE openings!
My goofy pit bull did his best one morning that I was late feeding him, to get one of these stations open... He moved it 20 feet from where I had it, flipped it over and over, stomped on it and chewed the edge of the lid...he seemed to have tried everything he could to get it open, but he did NOT succeed!!! I am very pleased with my purchase. The openings for the rodents to enter and access the bait, are the largest I found after looking for some time... Even a Squirrel or full grown Norway rat, would fit inside easily. There are multiple ways to fill with bait, and just about any size/type bait block or packet, should be able to be used with no problems.

Other animals can get at the bait also!
Mixed feelings! Mostly, about poisoning creatures, but did decide that I am not so sympathetic to the rats around our house and in our basement. Spring traps in our basement were getting sprung, but never catching anything. In desperation, decided to try these. The good - I found the traps very easy to use WHEN I read the directions. We baited with JT Eaton 750 Top Gun All Weather Rodenticide Bait Blocks and stashed some traps under bushes around the outside foundation. The system appears to have worked. The very bad: We originally had put one trap near some garbage cans. I checked on the 2nd night, and to my horror, the trap was upended a couple of feet away, one of the bait posts was missing, and the box was empty of bait! That wasn't rats! I figured our local raccoons had reached in for the bait! In the future, we only put the traps where rats might go, but not the raccoons. Wondering if this could be designed better, but not sure how.

Good quality, but the critters eat it
I've never used bait stations before, but these seem good. It seems that the rats love the poison so much that they eat it up quickly, and then get pissed that it's gone and chew up the plastic box. Not really the product's fault, but after just a few (like 3) reloads, they are getting close to unusable.

Excellent bait station for home or commercial use!
I placed these around the house and garage and haven’t seen rats or mice since. These work great for getting rid of mice and rats, and are easy to use.Great bait stations for a good price. Good quality and latch system. I really like the color and how many extra keys it comes with. The green is unique and blends into its surroundings. The extra keys are handy incase you lose one.....or two.....never have enough keys.Safe for kids and kills the rats....... it gets the job done!

Keeps everything except rats out
Having bird feeders and living in a rural area, I expected to have rodents. I did not expect to have rats the size of cats! I tried everything from traps to baffles to keep them off the feeders. Just when I thought I had them deterred, they'd come back. Tried a pet safe tunnel trap and several times the rats were so big that they were "snapped" but still alive and stuck in the trap. (For the animal activists who will comment on this; I dropped the entire trap in a bucket of water and walked away because there was no way to get to them otherwise). I bought these bait stations but wanted to keep the bunnies, birds and my dog from being poisoned. A little difficult to open until you figure out the trick, but the bait was disappearing. I have put the trap back out just in case but have not had a rat. The bait eating has almost come to a halt, so hopefully, I've gotten rid of them. They are sturdy and weather proof and would recommend.

Easy to use and safe for your neighbor's pets
I read that the product was hard to lock/unlock, but bought them anyway. I didn't want to kill someones dog, and these are very good for that. I have a bunch of spring traps that kill. My mice are too smart for that, but they eat the bait. I use them inside and outside, and never see them (mice), but the bait gets eaten and I can see their scat in the trap. And the boxes are not hard to open and close. Hold the box with your feet and twist the key. Do one side at a time. They give you 2 keys per box, but it will be hard to do both sides at the same time. Maybe that's what other people are doing. Another great feature is that you can see the bait through the lid, so you know when it needs to be reloaded. Great design.

Sturdy bait stations
We live next to a hoarders house full of rats and now unfortunately the rats are venturing into our yard. Pest control company recommended bait stations along our fence line and wanted to charge $400 for 4 bait stations and their service to refill the bait and remove dead rats. I saw these online and they are very sturdy and we like the locking mechanism since we have small kids/a dog. It has also rained and it does not seem that the rain is getting inside. The bait is being eaten so the stations are working.... haven’t seen any dead rats yet but hopefully our yard is rat free soon. They do not come with bait, I bought the poison blocks recommended and you can stack some inside the station. Thanks!
