Gurren Lagann DVD Collector's Edition

Okay, for any of you wgo are thinking about buying this and watching it on your ps4. DONT! A ps4 does not support the discs and you will need an official blu ray player to watch it.I tried to and I got the image you see in this review.That being said great show.

I like how random and fluid the "evolutions" are in this show and it's fun to watch. There is a lot of fan service regarding the female sniper character, but it is nothing like High School of the Dead bad. The story progresses over a long period of time and it changes gears several times, but I never felt jarred by it.

Yes I made the mistake of Buying a Blu-ray without Reading the Information.it was a Region 0, which means I can't play it on my Region 1, American Player.

DONT BUY From this seller if you live in USA. Does Not Work In That Region.

The description does not explain this is not able to he used in the U.S.A. be WARNED!!!

When I ordered it, the warning saying it wouldn't work on most blue-ray players in North America was nawt present, now I gawt it ahnd she won't play on anything... I feel tricked.

This is going to be a review of the case and extra content because I assume that, if you are thinking about buying this show, you've already seen it and have decided you liked it enough to purchase the physical copy.The case holds all 27 episodes in a normal size Blu-ray case. Holds the discs and has nice artwork, can't ask for much else.Some of the extra features include a tour of the studio that made the show, story boards and test footage.This is something you should definitely get if you like the show.

A great anime in a great format.Gurren Lagann is a classic anime despite not actually being that old itself, the anime oozes style and coolness. The animation - for the most part - is fantastic, very stylised with extremely good art direction.If you, or someone you know are a fan of anime I would say this is certainly a good one to get. The story isn't mind-blowing but its fun none-the-less with a good cast of characters and lots of robot action.As usual AllTheAnime give us a great product, with the Complete Edition - they seem to be one of the only UK anime distributors actually offering blu-ray for the most part! The blu-ray set boasts 1080p resolution video for the main features; Japanese and English Audio; English subtitles and a total runtime of 675 minutes.The contents are:- Episodes 1 - 27- TV Textless Openings and Endings (text on Ending 2)- Yoko Goes to Gainax (Making of)- SANZIGEN 3DCG Test Animation Footage- Storyboard Music VideoOverall: I would recommend to an anime fan, or someone buying for an anime fan. I wouldn't say this anime is for everyone, but I would say everyone should give it a shot. Its incredibly likeable and has a lot of charm.

The Gurren Lagann Blu-Ray release is awesome, the shows characters are the strongest part of this show, they are Simon a timid young lad who lives in an underground village with his friend Kamina, a headstrong young man who wishes to go onto the surface which they are told doesn't exist. when Simon is Drilling an expansion tunnel he finds a small golden drill and later finds a giant face of a mecha called a gunman, when an enemy gunman crashes through the roof of their village and a young female surface dweller called Yoko swings down to help fight the gunman its up to Simon to pilot the gunman to fight it off. This begins a series of events that strengthen the characters and the bonds between them.The characters are also very quotable with a ton of lines that have a fairly deep meaning or at least have meaning to me.Visually the show is beautiful and the story of the show is amazing although it might not be to all tastes and the shows soundtrack suits the story and builds up the hype or suits the mood when necessary.The only flaws with this are that the visual quality of episode 4 is slightly different to the rest of the episodes but this is due to the episode having a different director to the rest of the episodes and the fact that their is no subtitles for any of the kanji on screen or for the opening or ending songs lyrics.

it's a good series but i got really put off by it considering i had better sitting on my shelf to watch. if i was to say why it put me off it would spoil the series. i got about half way through it and stopped watching but it is not forgotten and will be watched when i get round to it. not one to dance about but also not one to avoid. can be picked up for an amazing price, i have seen it drop to around £13 which is an unbelievable price.

Story, great. Animation, great. Characters, great. Music, great. Watch again, of course.
