Stinky shoes be gone!
I got this boot dryer to help prevent odors in our climbing shoes. We often climb for a couple of hours and the shoes get sweaty; left to their own devices, they then get stinky and clammy, and I don't even want to think about what ends up living in there.Enter the boot dryer. I haven't tried using it with actual boots yet, but it's been very effective for our climbing shoes. We set it up in the garage and just pop our shoes on when we get home, push the "Drying" button, and come back later to pleasantly dry shoes. We usually dry them for about 30 minutes per pair.In terms of comparing this model to other available boot dryers, I can't do a direct comparison (this is the first one I've used) but I can tell you impressions based on the reviews I've read on other dryers.First, it's not silent. As I mentioned, we run ours in the garage when we're not in there, so it's a non-issue for me, but I noticed that "premium" dryers (in the $80-range) mention running silently, so I assume that's important to many customers. This dryer does make noise, though it's still pretty quiet... think "quiet dishwasher" not "hairdryer."Next, it has a timer and shuts off when it's done. It seems like a lot of dryers are on when plugged in, off when unplugged, and that's it. This one has a reasonably intuitive digital interface and remembers the last setting, which is convenient since we typically use the same setting each time. Finally, the one caveat, and the main reason I deducted a star, is that the interface doesn't match what's shown on the box or what's described in the included instructions (and those don't even match each other!). It's a good thing the interface is fairly intuitive because you won't get any help from the instructions. (See the attached photos.)All things considered, I'm glad I bought it and will happily use it for as long as it lives.

I Think This Thing was DOA
Okay, I was so excited about this item. I have All Bird shoes and they have to be washed often and this was going to be a lifesaver. So, product arrives and I try it the first time. It was weirdly loud and I could barely, adn I mean barely, feel any air. Was the air warm? Not really. Maybe 1 to 2 degrees warmer than the room the device was in, but that could just be me wishing it was warm. So I ran the device one time over night in the guest bathroom, as it is crazy loud. The shoes weren't close to dry, and discovered they dry faster outside without the device. But, wanted to give it a second chance. I did the shoes again, turned on the device, and this time nothing, but a weird electrical sound. Next thing I know I can smell an electrical fire scent coming from the device. No air was blowing, and nothing was heating up, but something was definitely shortcircuiting on the inside. So, if I want the bathroom to smell like electrical fire, I just power this thing up. Now it makes no noise, just throws off electrical scent at the risk of catching fire at any moment. In short, a paper weight could dry my shoes faster. My last complaint is that Amazon should really allow for zero stars for products that really deserve it. This would be one...

Not so intelligent
Made of fairly cheap plastic materials. Very loud fan when operating. Instructions were clearly not written in English first and the translation leaves a lot to be desired. However, it's not as if this is a complicated piece of equipment. What is missing completely from the instructions is how to place your shoes, boots, etc. on the blowers. You would think this would be a no brainer but we messed around with several different placements in order to get efficient use. Also has recommended drying times for various types of shoes but says nothing in regards to what is recommended for gloves, socks, helmets, etc. which are listed as other applications for this appliance. The odor protection claim is based on the fact that it uses ozone that they claim kills odors and various fungus. We have not recognized this to be an accurate statement. It does a good job of drying sweaty shoes from a days work but needs to run for a long time to dry something like snowmobile boots. With the very loud fan, I'd recommend placing it in another room if you're going to need to run it for a long period of time.

Good purchase, have used extensively
I bought this primarily for my work boots, but I also use it for sneakers, especially after I wash them. Works well and the cord didn’t melt on the initial plug-in like some other brand boot dryer that I bought. Basically it’s a double barrel hair dryer on a plastic base. You definitely have to adjust the drying arms for an 8” size 13 boot, in order to keep the whole thing from tipping over, but that’s not any kind of problem because the fold-down arms are completely adjustable and works fine from probably around 20° up to 90°. Can’t say I was all too happy with my waterproof alpha force boots, but that’s a separate issue altogether. All in all this boot dryer worked great for me over the winter. I rated scent based on my observation that having a boot dryer and using it regularly after being in work boots for 16 hours really helps keeps your boots from getting gross. This is where the timer function is very handy, because it’s not something I want to take time worrying about between shifts.

Worked great for about 4 months now it's getting noisy. Not a quick dry , very slow.
Purchased and received this in the middle of June 2019. Here now in November the fan is starting to rattle and makes a lot of noise. I have a feeling that it may not last that much longer. The overall construction has a cheap feel to it, and while raising or lowering the ports it just feels like it's going to snap at any second. It blows out semi warm air. In fact, I think you can blow out hotter air though your mouth ;(It has a "Ozone" button and I think that's mislabeled and it more of an ion generator. I know what ozone generators are and look like ( I have one ) and there is no way this has any ozone plates inside it.It takes about 2x 99 minute sessions to dry out a soccer cleat that was just sweaty or damp.Hopefully I can locate something a little better but for the time this will eventually dry out your shoes. Quicker just putting them outside in the sun on a warm day but with colder days now and ahead this will have to do.

Does the job!
I bought this for my husband who's a scaffolder and he loves it!With autumn in full swing it's been raining a lot so the dryer has been used almost every day and it certainly does the job.As a matter of fact, he came home from work today and one of the guys at his site has asked if I could order one for him too (I did of course :)It's quite light and a bit flimsy in design so I'm not sure how long it will last but it's been working hard for a few weeks now and it's still going strong so fingers crossed...

Dry shoes for rainy days
Really useful for drying out wet shoes - the last couple of weeks we have been having rain almost daily and these have been a great help in keeping shoes dry. The machine doesn't make much sound while working which is good. Do the shoes point away from the machine or point towards that machine. I tired both ways and it works but would have liked the manual to be clear on this point.

Cheap tat, but it works. Can't argue with the results for £20.
Works a treat. My riding shoes are constantly wet, especially in the winter. Drying them on the radiator can take several days due to the thick padding, however this dries them in around half an hour. I'd say it would dry a normal pair of shoes easily within 15 minutes.Admittedly, it's cheaply made, with low-grade plastic and the extendable arms are quite flimsy. Time will tell how long it will last, but for £20, it's worth taking a bit of care.

Great for drying my golf shoes 👍
Got this to dry my golf shoes, There always damp after playing golf especially from now to April. This is great I set the timer I find 30 mins is generally enough to dry them out and I usually put them on for another 30mins before I go to put them on so there nice and warm,Simple to use and would recommend 👍

I specifically researched and wanted an Upstartech Boots Dryer, but received an unbranded box, with no sight of Upstartech Brand on Box, Instructions or Product itself.Have yet to use as this was supposed to be a Christmas gift for someone requesting a specficic Upstartech ProductI feel disappointed and concerned that I have been sent an inferior product.Packaging arrived damaged.
